#19.7 Florida Sharks Update

Only minor changes here, particularly only small color changes. The primary and secondary logos are the same, the script is what my main focus was toward: I went with 'Sharks' in athletic gold with a wavelike pattern within the letters.

Another set of solid, if imperfect, updates. The new Sharks script is fine. I could probably do without all the outlines and the shadow, but they aren't really hurting it.

The new Rhinos logo is quite nice--definitely a big improvement. There are still some very minor line weight/outline issues, but you've clearly made an effort to address them, and it shows here. The D-logo and wordmark are both okay. They're maybe a little basic, but still okay. General idea, though: I really think the entire logo package needs red (instead of gray) outlines, for two reasons. First, they are very gray-heavy and don't currently fit the same palette ratio (of blue to gray to red) that the uniforms have. Secondly, you're using a very consistent red oultine/red piping motif in the uniforms, and it seems like a logical step to carry that into the logos.

You know, I've been looking at the Sharks concept, and now I wonder why you've included the gray/silver outline on the logos at all. As far as I can tell, it's only used on the logos and wordmarks--never in the uniforms or striping. Why not just replace them with the bright blue? It would eliminate a seemingly unnecessary color, and it would help the logos match the uniforms style (especially between the shark and the striping on the helmet).

I'm loving the concepts, but a few things stick out to me. There seems to be a lot of teams with black helmets (11 out of 19) and 15 of the teams have black pants for their road uniforms. On most of the uniforms, the logos on the sleeves match what is on the helmet although there are secondary and tertiary logos available. It's your league so it can look the way you want it to, all I'm suggesting is to mix it up a bit.

I agree. I think the logo would pop better with the baby blue outline instead of the gray one.

I thought of that, but it kinda created a distraction because the hue is so powerful and vibrant in the blue. I wanted something softer, like the light gray.

I'm working on the Talons as we speak, I'll have the posted withing the next couple of days.

Yes, it's back... After a long 'designer's block', I feel like I've finally came to a nice medium with this concept; so here it is...

#19.8 Dallas Talons Update

Up Next: #19.9 New York Lightning Update

So, I've put ALOT of thought into this one, as I was stumped many times when I thought I had something. I ended up going a whole different direction, sketching some ideas as the state of Texas as inspiration. I took a look at the landscape, and most specifically their flag. I wanted to keep the same 'Cowboys' look from the NFL, so I kept the same relative template as the older Talons concept. This time around, after alot of thought, I changed the colors against my own judgement; I was really into the unique color scheme. I went with dark navy, red, and a meaningfull color (a mix of sand, to relate the team to Texas' deserts; and silver, to relate back to the Cowboys. It turned out to be a light pewter color, similar to the color in the Texas Rangers' flag shoulder patch.) So without further ado, the new primary is a white, swooping hawk head. The meaning behind the logo is that the way I layed the colors out on the right end of the head, the white at the top and red at the bottom corresponds to Texas' state flag, so I added that little subtle touch. The secondary is pretty much the same as before, just updated to fit the current color scheme and style. The tertiary is where I went a little bit wacky. It's the wing of a hawk in colors corresponding to the texas flag, as well. I really wanted to add this logo in, specifically because I wanted to tie the name Talons to Dallas one last time, and also because the comments on the first concept suggested that I add a 'wing' logo on the uniforms. I've also used the wing logo as an accent to the script, which is Dallas Talons in two toned light pewter and white. The uniforms underwent some minor changes, but nothing drastic.
