The re-done Washington set looks awesome, but there's one thing that's off. In the tertiary you used the Maryland state flag. Why not use Washington's flag? Is the team playing their games in Maryland (Like the Redskins)?

Yes, they do play in Washington D.C., Maryland.

Washington DC isn't in Maryland, it's its own district.

I agree the Washington DC flag would be better in that crest ... it would still look awesome.

The D.C stands for District of Columbia, which as Rjrrzube pointed out, is it's own district and is not a state. Here's a link to D.C's flag, which will look great with the current tertiary!

This whole series is quite good and I admire the way your keeping at it over time. Really as a whole, you do nice work, but the main thing Im noticing is almost all (if not all) use the same lighting technique on the wordmark with two shades of color to portray some shininess to the letters (one color on the top half of the letter and another color on the bottom half). Now, I like that technique and have used it myself, but there are other ways of doing wordmarks and you should explore using different techniques on your letters. Sometimes just just one color works fine, or some other way of doing shading or shadows works. Overall, great work on your logos, but these are all beginning to look the same.

First post :D

Love this project. I would honestly have to say that the Knights update has been my favorite thus far.

The secondary logo, and the tertiary are absolutely gorgeous. Great work!

Well technically it's in the same landmass as Maryland, I guess.

I'm impressed with the Washington Knights update. The uniforms and logos (especially the primary 'golden -- or actually, pewter -- knight' logo) look bolder than the original.

#19.12 San Diego Wildcats Update

Up Next: #19.13 Charlotte Prowlers Update

wildcatREVO1-1.png

After about 4 drafts and roughly two weeks of work, I think I finally hit the target with the Wildcats; I shot for accuracy more than anything this time around. I tried my best to work with their current color scheme, which I believe turned out well. I kept the primary in the same general position, but reworked the facial area. The biggest change here is that I've got a new full-bodied wildcat logo, used as the secondary, a full-bodied blue wildcat leaping in the air. I went for simplicity with the script, which is a custom version based off of Wide Glide; Wildcats in blue. The uniforms are pretty much the same, aside from a different number font. Thought about putting the full body cat on the sleeves, reminiscent of the Jags old unis; but never did.

I think you missed here, the first update I haven't loved. The nose on the head looks a little weird to me, I guess because it's just a circle. Something about it bugs me.

The full bodied one looks weird to me too. I think the position is a bit off. It looks kind of like he's flailing his body at something, not leaping gracefully. His legs look too long. It's almost like a kangaroo/rabbit/cat hybrid.

I really love the uniforms though, kudos on those.

Not feeling the updated primary and secondary logos for the Wildcats. To be honest with you, they both look weird. I would fix the nose on the primary logo and tweak the secondary logo so it doesn't look like a "glorified kangaroo-cat".

On the other hand, at least the uniforms still look awesome!

Thanks for the feedback so far, it's certainly appreciated.

I'm still not sure as to what is off with the full bodied wildcat. Is it proportially wise, that something is inaccurate? Or is there something that is excessive, or lacking? I realize that the nose is a bit too round, which is a personal mistake as I forgot to edit it from the original tracing, so that would be fixed easily. I did a ton of research on the wildcat, which is generally a wild form of a domesticated cat (right?). They typically have a small stature, so if I bulked this thing anymore than I already did, I'd have a panther/cougar/cheetah lookin' thing.

Let me know what's off specifically.

I also forgot to mention that the Knights' tertiary shield logo with the D.C. flag as the crest, as rjrrzube had suggested.
