Sport
Too bad it's not possible for both these teams to lose. Since it isn't, I guess I'll root for the lesser of two evils; Go Yankees. The Yankees are really the lesser of two evils? In my world they are. There is only one team in all of professional sports that I can say I truly hate* and it's The Boston Red Sox. Sorry dude. It is what it is. * I used the word hate simply because it's the quickest way to express my dislike of The Red Sox. I don't "hate" them in the true sense of the word. I just enjoy seeing them lose more than I enjoy seeing them win. I don't care enough to actually have an emotional connection to anything they do. In other words, I'm trying to explain that I don't take it that seriously."sports-hate" is perfectly acceptable and rational behavior.
JayJaxon
I enjoyed that game tonight. I usually hate the obsession ESPN has with the Yankees and Red Sox, but this was a good one.

I usually hate the obsession ESPN has with the Yankees and Red Sox, but this was a good one. It's not really fair to say ESPN has an obsession with Yankees - Red Sox. It's not their fault that no one has told them that there are 28 other teams in MLB. I bet if they knew there were other teams they might consider airing some of their games. Perhaps we should write them a letter or something.
infrared41
Having Neil Diamond there to sing "Sweet Caroline" more than makes up for having to watch Steven Tyler's god-awful rendition of "God Bless America."Who the hell thought that was a good idea? NJTank
I think Stephen Tyler was auditioning to be the washed up singer at Super Bowl XLIV halftime. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
BBTV
LOL, there's 27 busses full of Phillies fans leaving 30th St. Station this morning to head down to DC for the opener. And that's just ONE organized trip! That doesn't even count the other organized trips, or the one-offs that are headed down.Sucks that the Nationals wear red, so you won't get to tell how many Phillies fans are in the park since every fan will be wearing red. As a gift, the Nats will surrender 10 runs in their loss to the Phillies today.

Although it's not much of a stretch to predict that the Phillies would drop at least ten on the Nats BTW, if you can afford MLB.tv and don't have it, get it. It's proven to be an awesome investment and it's only opening day. On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) TFoA
Mark Buehrle just made the play of the season...and it's just Opening Day.Comebacker to Buehrle, he deflects it with his foot to the first base line's foul territory, he catches up with it, gets it between his legs & does a no-look flick with the glove through his legs, & Konerko catches it barehanded, beating the runner by a hair. Unbelievable play.

Sport
I respect the hell out of Albert Pujols, but it totally blows to have this guy in your division. He's hit two bombs and scored another run. edit: I come home from class to see the Reds down 6-4 in the top of the 9th. Nick Massett loads the bases after giving up the seventh run. Then Molina just went yard for the grand slam. A 5 spot in the 9th for the Cardinals. There are two teams in sports that I really could do without. Two teams that I would not feel any remorse for their fans or their city if they left. The Pittsburgh Steelers are one, the St. Louis Cardinals are the other.
