Armadillos are the s**t. And I think their features would allow for a pretty stylish logo.

The fictional Texas State University team in the film "Necessary Roughness" was the Armadillos. Armadillos is also used for San Saba High School in San Angelo, Texas-- the only high school in the whole state to use that name.

Rhinos would make great football mascots.

Kangaroos for basketball.

Bats for baseball.

Walruses for hockey.

Shouldn't that be "Dillos"?

Used to be a AAA team called the Ottawa Lynx. Maybe one day they'll be replaced with the Ottawa Ocelots.

what about the lynx or ocelot?

It is difficult to be underused when you are geographically limited, as those cats are. Think about it this way, if the animal is not domesticated (bulldog), then it is hard to be known if you were not in a circus or in a zoo in the early 1900's, when sport within US universities began.

Titans for Fullerton is "outside the box" and done well.

I've got the Rhinos in my fantasy football league. Their one of the more intimidating animals that don't have that many teams.

There are not many ape/monkey-realted names out there. Pitt State's gorilla is the only one I can think of.
