Unpopular Opinions

Recommended Posts

If most people really stop noticing ads on jerseys, they'll get bigger or shinier or get flashing lights or something, because...you know... they're advertisements.

I see your point, and if I was used to jerseys without ads on them I would probably be skeptical as well, but the photo bellow shows the same team in the early 1990's. The same ad (SGIO) can be seen on the left hand side of the jersey. I'm not saying that the NBA or any sport will keep small ads on jerseys before switching to bigger and flashier ones, but I remain optimistic that it'll be similar to the AFL.

I don't think the Malcolm Glazer Buccaneers look is the greatest look in the franchise, much less one of the best in the NFL. It was bland with no reason to be bland. Logo wasn't anything special either.

This is my favorite post-Lombardi Packers uniform.... only ever used in 1988.

Sort-of related, but I also loved the way they stretched Phillip Epps' last name out on the back of his jersey.

Another unpopular opinion is my love for the Vikings with a white face mask.

I kind of liked Seattle's white jerseys paired with grey pants in last night's game...

Wasn't that a one-season deal? I wonder why...

The Vikings white masks were around for at least a few years.

I'm not a Bucs fan and therefore this is not a homer decision: I really liked the Bucs on the field tonight. The red looked sharper, the pewter wasn't as overdone like I thought before in photoshoots, and the number font wasn't as horrible while watching the game. If anything, it almost felt as if the numbers were easier to identify.

What I find more fascinating is the huge gap between each letter of 'Epps.'

That's why I originally posted this on the other page... I actually liked the way his name was spaced out on the back.

I remember watching a replay of 'The Drive' and I remember seeing a player for the Broncos with 3 letters and I remember how spaced out it was.

Edit: After research, the player's name is Clarence Kay.

Seems like football names used to be way more spaced out back then. Maybe it's just me, I dunno; I'm tired and not in the mood to dig up any supporting evidence for my claim. This is why I sucked at mock trial in high school.
