Lights Out 4,814 Posted February 13, 2015 It's a horribly dated look that was bad when it first came out. The "but they won a title in those!" logic doesn't really work when you remember that they also wore them during the 2006 Finals and the 2007 Warriors series.
Tigers6884 493 Posted February 13, 2015 I don't like their away uniform from the era, but I like the 1980s Atlanta Braves home uniform:It'd be cool to see it in action again, maybe as a one off for a day honoring Dale Murphy (on a side note, its a damn travesty that he hasn't been elected to the Hall of Fame).
WSU151 9,540 Posted February 13, 2015 I love the Mavericks' home uni Yet, the away and alt(s) are ehhh for me+1. Its a solid look with a championship behind it. No need for a change.Piping? Check.Weird color blocks around the sleeves? Check.Random color blocks on the shorts that don't have anything to do with anything? Check.Colors that don't appear in the main logo? Check.Collar design from 2000 when Nike designed it? Check.Weird back neck collar? Check.Yep. Solid.

The "but they won a title in those!" logic doesn't really work when you remember that they also wore them during the 2006 Finals and the 2007 Warriors series.I disagree with that completely, especially for fans of those teams. I HATED the NY Giants white jerseys with all red numbers/letters/stripes, UNTIL they wore them while winning Super Bowl XLII. Seeing your team wear the uniform while holding a trophy just makes the uni look better, imo.

IceCap 21,987 Posted February 13, 2015 Yeah, a few bad outings doesn't take away from a uniform's championship pedigree.
Lights Out 4,814 Posted February 13, 2015 Meh. The Kings' uniforms still look like typical Reebok garbage even with the two Cups, and the Mavericks' uniforms still looked as bad in 2011 as they did in 2010.

YOu could say they were terrible, and that wouldn't raise an issue(even though I disagree), but they aren't like what reebok did in 07
1insaneguy 193 Posted February 13, 2015 yeah the kings are too plain need more purple and maybe some gold accents would be cool.

It's pretty standard Reebok crap.
Sport 13,808 Posted February 13, 2015 I wouldn't classify what the Kings wear as "Bettman piping". This is Bettman Piping

Morgan33 4,053 Posted February 14, 2015 The Kings jerseys aren't amazing but they're good enough. Simple striping, a unique colour scheme with history behind it. If it were up to me, the Kings would have won their cups in the pre-edge set but they didn't so the Kings look is what it is.

-kj 2,335 Posted February 14, 2015 Have we extended the "phantom" term to that now? I suppose the unpopular opinion is that the whole phantom thing is overblown.
BigBubba 787 Posted February 14, 2015 The black and blue look the same from more than like ten feet away. It's effectively "phantom" (or whatever term you'd like to use).

I applied literally that exact definition, just to a different kind of yoke.
