2010 NFL Season

Even as sloppy as the Niners have looked, they still line up as the best looking team in the NFC West. IMO they'll win the division fairly easily, then get smashed in the first round of the playoffs. Once again, these are STILL not your dad's 49ers.

I just want to add that even though the Saints won tonight, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in 1st place in the NFC South (thanks to division tie-breaker). I know it's not gonna last long, but I figured I'd enjoy it while it lasts.

Go Bucs! Let's not earn a top 10 draft choice this year.

Winning the NFC West is like bragging about being the world's tallest midget....

somebody has to win the division and you can't fault a team for winning when the rest of the division is not good, but first the Niners have to beat the teams in their division (i.e.-last week). The Niners looked pretty darn good tonight, some bone headed plays cost them the game, Alex Smith actually did ok tonight when he had time to call the play/adjust to the defense. With that D the Niners should be in a lot of games this year.

Reggie Bush is kind of overrated, he may be the best return man for the Saints, but he is at best the second best RB on the Saints. I would call him a Heisman Bust, but oh yeah.

Would have to agree. Pierre Thomas is a better overall player and an excellent kickoff returner too (remember the NFC Championship game OT?). I watch guys like Chris Johnson and Jahvid Best and think, 'Now THAT is what I thought Reggie would be doing.' He doesn't have great vision and often runs right into a pile when there are openings right next to them, or doesn't cut to the open spot. Like on last night's long return, Josh Cribbs would have juked or cut past the punter, turned on the jets, and scored where Reggie was satisfied to go out of bounds.

BTW, the 'firsts' since Payton arrived continue to pile up. Saints are now 2-0 in consecutive seasons for the first time ever.

On another subject, Vick's spin away from that defender looked like something out of Madden. That was pretty amazing.

I want the Niners to win this game, because I was mocked for picking them this week, and with all their turnovers they should have won easily.

This just in... Did you happen to see those big shiny rings the Saints have? They got those for being...you know...World Champions. If SF loses this game all it means is they lost to a damned good football team. The 49ers team I'm watching hardly "sucks." The Browns suck. The Bills suck. The Raiders suck. The Rams suck. Do you really think SF is no better than those teams?

My thought watching the 49ers tonight has been "how good would these guys be with a better QB?"

Unrelated to the argument, I noticed that this list doesn't include the Lions. I think it may be a typo, but even if it is, I'm enjoying the fact that on this list of sucky teams, the Lions weren't even mentioned. :P

The Lions are going to lose 12 games again this year, but looking at Stafford, Best and the defense starting to emerge they could be in the playoffs next season.

when your schedule begins with New England and Baltimore in the first two weeks it is probably an optimistic point of view to believe that you're team will be anything other than 0-2. This is why I'm very pleased with the Bengal's victory over the Ravens. It puts them at 1-1 as they go into the easiest part of their schedule with the next three being against Carolina, Cleveland, and Tampa Bay. Generously speaking, they should win all of those games (I have tickets to the Bucs game) so going into the bye they'll have a 4-1 record. That'll set them up nicely for the rest of the season's schedule which gets sticky immediately off the bye. Check out this gauntlet: at Atlanta, Miami, Pittsburgh (Monday night), at Indianapolis, at Jets, New Orleans, at Pittsburgh, San Diego, at Baltimore. Are you kidding me? There's games with the Bills and the Browns in there, but they haven't beaten the Bills in forever and you just never know with a divisional opponent. It's going to be an uphill climb for these guys and it'll be an accomplishment if they go 9-7.

October 10...it is officially ON, guy! :D

/hoping somehow my Bucs can spring an upset of the vaunted Steelboyz this Sunday in Tampa so they can go into that game 3-0, which is some serious optimism

Nope. The Lions are young and improving. They won't win a lot but they don't suck.

No they won't win alot this year, but they are exciting to watch. Something i've been waiting for a while. They have Suh and Best and I do think once Stafford is healthy, they could be a force in the next couple years. I'm not dissapointed they are 0-2, and i'm excited to see what they can do this year. I'm thinking 5-11 this year

Jets WR Braylon Edwards arrested for DUI -- so he'll be serving his suspension the moment Santonio Holmes returns from his.

It's just one thing after another. The Jets definitely aren't making it easy on themselves this year. <_<

Brylon has been in trouble before too, so he will ge a nice lengthy suspension.

So much for being "The Miami Heat of Football" more like the Portland Trailblazers

Well...I suppose this could be "breaking news"...

...just heard on the NFL channel that Andy Reid will be starting Michael Vick Sunday in Jacksonville.

EDIT: and "according to" Chris Mortenson, it's "until further notice".

Though I agree that Vick should be starting for the better of the team, this is a pretty big slap in the face to Kolb.

"Hey we traded away our franchise quarterback just for you. You are the new leader of the team."

He plays a half of football and gets a concussion:

"LOL No. sorry, sucks for you"

Kolb shouldn't have played like :censored: in that one half of football then.

Kevin Kolb wasn't ready to lead. Michael Vick was. Vick rightfully gets the starting job.

No, i agree that Vick deserves some serious recognition and praise for what hes doing, I'm just saying I'm surprised with the treatment Reid gave Kolb
