Just seeing this thread now, I like it.

I was sitting at the Alaska gate at Seattle last month and saw an U of Idaho plane on the way in and an Oregon plane on the way out. Should hace snapped a picture.

Last May when I was leaving Seattle I saw a Boise St and Washington plane as well. Took some pics with my phone but didnt turn out great.. Wish I coulda seen the Oregon one.

Just out of curiosity...

does anyone think it would be possible to make a template for an airplane similar to that used for the helmets (eg Davidsons thread).

I know there are loads out there for Flight Sim games but they dont provide a finished picture without putting it into the game itself.

Considering the size of the aerospace industry there must be a 3D render model out there. Maybe someone knows of one, been looking myself but didnt find anything.

Obviously I could use a plain aircraft and just draw on top of that but the results wouldnt be as good and thought it would be worth asking in here to see what peoples thoughts are.

Would be great if its possible because then I could combine my two great passions of sports and aircraft (being an aerospace engineering student).

I'll make one for you...just need to find a good picture to use and I'll post it here when I'm done

Follow this link. Alaska Airlines and the Portland Timbers are sponsoring a "Paint the Plane" contest to design the Timbers plane for Alaska's fleet. I wish I had discovered this sooner, because the deadline is tomorrow!!!! We've got some great designers here, maybe someone can throw something good together in a day.

Winner gets plane tickets, and the plane will actually be painted with the winning design.

If you just want the template, there is a pdf version on the website.

How can it be JetBLUE if it's green?

Yeah, they should have used the Titans throwback scheme. :D

On the jumbotron at Falcons' games, they show the AirTran Falcons plane touching down every time the Falcons score. If I wasn't a Saints fan I'd like that... B)

Is that Washington State's official wordmark? I've never seen it before, and it does look pretty generic... They could have at least used the "Cougars" script.

It isn't. But prior to last month, WSU athletics really didn't have an official wordmark.

I do love the Alaska Airlines/Timbers pairing, which successfully combines a team I dislike with an airline that specializes in late flights and making people miss connections.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is an example of a Simpson's Paradox. Why do Alaska's numbers for on-time flights look worse? Because they fly a good number of flights out of Seattle, which as an airport has more delays than others. It is conceptually possible for Alaska to have a worse on-time rating overall than a competitor, but be better than them at every single airline. I know this was the case with Alaska and America West when AW was still around.

MJ's Personal Jet:

Jordan lands into Andrews AFB all the time...no idea how that gets approved. Pretty eff'd up.

I'm sure the US government is perfectly willing to let him land wherever he wants as long as he pays them.

BTW, the serial number on his jet reads N236MJ. I don't know if it's a common thing to customize your the serial numbers on your plane like a license plate, but that's freaking cool.

He still needs a PPR (Prior Permission Requirements) approval from the Wing, or Group, or at the very least the Squadron Commander....this has nothing to do with money. I can only assume some military fokes are on the plane when it arrives. It's strange.

IF ONE IS CONSIDERED RACIST, THEN BOTH MUST BE CONSIDERED RACIST.

BOTTOM LINE: NEITHER ONE IS RACIST.
