altosax29b
Old:New:They changed the long used logo for the release of iTunes 10. Some people actually got angry at Apple about changing it. Both icons are unspectacular IMO, I don't get what the big deal is.
LMU
I actually prefer the new one. The old one seemed too clip art-ish.
ksupilot
Just got iTunes 10, and the logo change was a bit of a surprise to me. After clicking the same icon for the past few years, it does throw your mind for a loop, but I am sure I will get used to it soon.

BlueSky
The change makes sense given the shift away from CDs. Anyone who is "angry at Apple" over this update needs to re-examine their priorities and/or get a life.
Lights Out
The new icon is far better, but I assume the anger is because iTunes' icons have pretty much looked the same over the years, with music notes and a CD, and now, here comes a pretty radical change that makes iTunes unrecognizable at first in the Dock. loogodude90
Upgrade, as others mentioned, the (mainstream) CD era is over, and the new one looks "cooler". So I actually think this was a logical upgrade too. WIZARDS ORIOLES CAPITALS RAVENS UNITED
Braden
I agree that the CD needed to go, but come on, it's an incredibly lazy update.
Brass
I don't mind the new logo. LOVE the new iTunes, though. The incorporated Ping is an excellent touch. On 4/10/2017 at 3:05 PM, Rollins Man said: what the hell is ccslc?
DG_ThenNowForever
I agree that the CD needed to go, but come on, it's an incredibly lazy update. It's just a Web 2.0 music note. Apple's graphic package, while unified and whole, is just a Web 2.0 gloss over everything. To me, it's very boring. 1 hour ago, ShutUpLutz! said: and the drunken doodoobags jumping off the tops of SUV's/vans/RV's onto tables because, oh yeah, they are drunken drug abusing doodoobags

TornadoGTS
I liked the old one, I mean yeah take out the CD, but that blue music note in that style, was just better looking, especially considering it was on a white background most of the time, and it just looked clean and modern. This new one adds black and and looks darker in general, something about it looks cheesy to me. Facebook: CustomSportsCovers Twitter: CSCovers Quote No because when the Irish came to Ireland and first came in contact with the leprechaun people, they didn't take their land away and force them to move west. Instead, the two groups learned to assimilate peacefully. However, certain tribes of the leprechaun refused to taint the pure blood and moved north into the forests of Ireland, only to be seen rarely, usually at the same time of a rainbows appearance and occasionally at the factories of Lucky Charms. fishheatcats
I upgraded to 10 the other day, but the icon in my dock is still the same old iTunes icon. I like the new one, not great but it's okay.I remember we recreated the old iTunes icon as an exercise in one of my advanced Illustrator classes a few years back. CS85
i always found it kind of ironic that the iTunes logo had a CD in it. Upgrade based on logic, not so much design. TopCat
Can't wait until I can make fun of kids for not knowing what a CD is. Just like old people keep pestering me about not knowing what an "8 track" (ape track?) is. I still don't know.I like neither icon, personally. facebook | @thebugcollector
