Connecticut Whale? Really?

So isn't just me that thinks this is a half assed attempt at cashing in on the Whalers name... Good to know that.

Oh, and rams: Instead of banishing the Whale and Abbotsford from the league, take one of them and put that team in Des Moines. I want my Chops back, dammit!

You see, that's where we differ. Of the AHL's primary team logos, I'd say that that are only five, maybe six that are clearly worse than the Connecticut Whale's: Albany, Chicago, Peoria, Philadelphia and Syracuse... maybe Springfield.

Hey!

Not that I give a damn about the current/former Whale(ers), but that is some killer work, Kinger!

Do teams not know to come to the CCSLC when looking for a new design? Most concepts on here DESTROY what teams usually go with when they unveil new logos/uniforms.

Well, we won't see the Whale logo every night. In his press conference, Howard Baldwin says he has plans to have both Hartford Whalers and Hartford Wolf Pack retro nights.

Then why not just use that identity full time?!

/God, this league needs a commissioner with a backbone.

No idea. I'd say go to AHLBoards.com and ask the Wolf Pack fans what they think, but if you mention the Hartford Whalers, you'll get murdered.

No kidding. I mean, come on. If he has the rights to use the name, then why not bring that back instead of coming up with some damn Connecticut Whale?! This is ridiculous.

BTW, Kinger did a great job in his rendition of the Whale logo. It's still a ridiculous name, but JQK really made some delicious lemonade out of the lemons that he had to work with.

The JQk logo is money. Much better than your previous efforts. In fact, I can't think of a single thing to critique about it, and I can probably count on one hand (two at most) the number of logos I've felt that way about.

The jerseys on the other hand could use some work. The numbers are a little fat, and the outlines a little thick. They look a little Canuckish too, but I may just be seeing things there. That template just makes everything look too cartoony, especially with its thick border.

The new hockey team in my hometown (Danbury, CT) is called the Danbury Whalers. Quite possibly the best minor league identity I've seen in years. Even better than the last minor league hockey team in the same town: Danbury Trashers. THAT teams logo was fantastic. This team's logo is even better. The secondary logo is fantastic. Dare I say it? ...it may even be better than the original Hartford logo. *covers head*

Loved the Trashers!!! LMAO

Hey!

... could be worse... at least Chicago has a team, unlike Philadelphia...

I saw, I came, I left.
