Tampa Bay Buccaneers Concept

I posted a concept awhile back but havn't done any since then so I started working in this.

I chose the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because, even though I like the uniforms they have now, I really like their old colors and wanted to try something with those. Nothing too major but I like the way it looks.

(The stripe on the helmet matches the one on the pants, can't see it in that view though)

Any suggestions to improve it?

The little bit of red actually doesn't fit with the rest of the concept. You've either got too much or not enough.

Right now from neck to toe it reminds me of the University of Tennessee. The concept is awkward because there is a load of black in the helmet (decal and facemask), and only a little bit of red. Also, the jerseys are plain. They need something extra.

Yeah I can see how it reminds you of Tennessee, im going to have to go back and change some things, and I'll probably end up puting some stripes on it. Also im going to try to take some of the black out of the helmet, and try to add more red to the uniform. Im trying to make this concept look different then the old ones, so im going to have to work some of those things out, without just copying them.

As for the concept at hand, definitely add some striping to the jersey. Maybe try ditching the red altogether and make all of the trim black. It would be a nice change of pace for a Bucs concept to not use the same colors as always.

Insulting isn't a thing thats taken lightly around here. If you don't like the concept then post what he can change to make it better or dont post at all.

Learn some proper grammar and how to give constructive criticism, then come back.

As for the concept, I agree with everyone else. I would replace the red with black and go with a more modern look.

I know you're trying to not replicate the old orange jerseys, but these definitely need more red. Try outlining the number on the home jersey in red, and maybe a fully-red number on the roads. Like a few others have said, it definitely needs some striping. Maybe work some red in with some black to tie it all together.

You've got a good start. It's just a few details that are missing that will finalize it.

Really, as a Bucs fan, I cringe whenever people try to make Bucs concepts with the current logo and old colors. It simply just doesn't work and always looks forced. Both sets are beautiful by themselves, but put together it's a disaster. One of the reasons I like the Bucs as much as I do is because growing up my family were all die hard Tennessee Vols fans and the Bucs looked somewhat similar. This set REALLY reminds me of the Tennessee Vols, so that I like.

I would match the football's orange to the orange in the uniform.

I like where it's going, I'll admit it does look strange without red but I actually really like the creamsicle orange with black as a trim. I think a suggestion from me would be to have the helmet stripe match with the other stripes (have it be black/orange/black, in other words). Other than that, I'm really liking this. Keep up the good work!

In a vacuum, without the context of the universe of other football uniforms, it's... OK. There's nothing egregiously wrong with it, it's a fine uniform. It's just that there's nothing particularly great about it either. Not sure if it's the combo of pale orange and black, or the traditional striping / numbering, or what.

Outside of the vacuum, it just doesn't work for the Bucs. Red has been such a part of their look throughout their history, that I think that if you needed to eliminate a color, it should have been the black. As others have mentioned, the pale orange and black look is more or less "owned" by Tennessee. Not saying that I agree, but I bet that most casual fans would. Your NOB on the white jersey would have to be switched to black, which further makes it look like Tenn.

It's difficult to do a concept that features more than two non-white colors. Not impossible, but tough without adding too many outlines or stripes to try and force everything in. The current Bucs do about as good a job as anyone has in working black, orange, and red together (not counting Pewter, as that could be subbed with white and the overall concept is the same.) Maybe focus on an orange and red concept with black as trim, instead of having it be equal with the red. Or do the exact opposite, and use a little red for trim. Use the current Bucs, or even the Eagles for inspiration (the Eagles use their green, charcoal, and black very well throughout the uniform.)

As I saw the first rendition my first thought was, get rid of the black and replace it with red. Number trim et al. Seems like I am not the only one with that idea. If you do that I think you are on you're way!

like The Impaler said, replace the black with the red and you've got a great thing started. except the facemask, the red wouldnt look good, so it can remain orange, or for a little more vintage look, grey. Overall do that and you've got yourself a pretty good concept.

The orange you are using it kinda dull, you need to make it a brighter and slightly redder orange. Also I would ditch the black all together except where needed in the logo. There it is not a color but a design element. Also perhaps you could change the number font or add a red drop shadow. And the swords on the logo should be RED...I think that would tie it all together.
