Did they wear those the whole game, or just during the ceremony?

I thought they were only going to wear them for the ceremony, but they're playing the game in them. The Giants announcers said that it is most definitely a one time thing.

I don't like that the Mariners have switched from a white outline around the compass rose to a teal one. Makes it look too small, and it almost disappears next to the wordmark.

On the plus side, it feels like the Mariners are embracing teal (northwest green, whatever) again where for so long they were pretending that it wasn't one of their colors.

I thought I'd never see the day where I'd agree with that, but I think that's the case.

The back wall of the dugouts, which have been blue ever since Safeco opened, are now teal.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but in last night's Padres game, Chad Qualls was wearing the wrong hat. The Padres were wearing their navy alternate jerseys, with which they wear the caps with the sand-colored SD, and he was wearing the cap with the white SD.

Happens more often than you think, mostly with teams whose 2 caps are essentially the same cap with different logos. Toronto guys do it alot.

Yeah I've noticed that a lot too with Toronto, but I don't think I've ever seen it with players on the field, just coaches or guys in the dugout. I haven't seen every game though, so it could've happened when I wasn't looking.

There was a game a few years ago (I think it was at the Yankees) where a Mets player (it might have even been more than 1 player) was wearing the home black alternate with "Mets" on the front while the rest of the team was (correctly) wearing the road alternate that says NEW YORK. And he wasn't on the bench, he was actually playing on the field. I think that's even way worse than wearing the wrong cap.

Houston occasionally has a similar problem with the brick alts & the BP's. It happened last week with one of the base coaches accidentally wearing BP jersey in a game and a few years ago Orlando Palmeiro played in a game briefly with the BP instead of the brick alt.

Was it against the Phillies?

In the second game of the season I noticed the Astro's first base coach had black numbers but I only caught a quick glance so I couldn't tell if he was wearing the batting practice jersey or if the coaches just have different colored numbers.

That would be the one. Bobby Meacham. He wore the BP in the game. Of course, there are 2 ways to fix this:

1. STOP WEARING THE GODDAMN ALTERNATES ALL THE GODDAMN TIME, HOUSTON!

2. Make the alternates & the BP's different colors.

This is absolutely 100% speculative, but the new Astros owner could hepl this out by modifying the current uniform set. No need to chunk the set completely or go back to the old colors, just clean it up. There is no need for 5 jerseys to be in the rotation.

It's bad when I go to a game and cannot remember which caps the players were wearing minutes after leaving the park.

I really have to say that there isn't a sports promotion around I dislike more than the one they're doing today. Everyone wearing the same number looks incredibly bush league and kind of even makes the game difficult to watch. Add that to the fact that there are still players (Well, one player) wearing the number 42 and it makes it even worse. Just wear a patch, even put it over the heart if you really want it to stand out, and be done with it.
