LEWJ
Hey, this is David Gormley (founder and president of zephyr)email me at zephyrhatz@gmail.com and ill get you some free hats so you know the quality we offer. The bets hats come from Zephyr.Bingo.It's a shame Zephyr hats will never see the sidelines. THE BEST lid that's ever graced my dome.Weird... it's been probably 10 years or so, but the last time I've had a Zephyr hat, they seemed so shoddy. Maybe they've improved in that time (it's extremely possible). If this isn't a scam, I don't know what is. | BROWNS | BUCKEYES | CAVALIERS | INDIANS |

mania
I sent an email, because the blog that their Facebook mentions points to the same twitter. On the internet, anything is possible, but that's a lot of work to pretend to be someone in the hat industry. So I'll either get emailed a virus or I'll get some hats.Win-win, IMO. BBTV
What would be the incentive for someone to come on here and lie about that? It's clearly not a spammer, and the most he would get out of it is your shipping address and e-mail address (unless it's "free" hats only if you cover the $50 shipping and handling per hat, which is really unlikely.) There's a lot of ways to scam people on the internet, and despite the Gmail e-mail address, it just doesn't make sense that someone would come on here and fake that. I think sometimes we're pretty quick to accuse around here - of course, that's part of what makes this place fun. If you wear the hats, why not take him up on the offer? I would. Cujo
I'm fairly sure that if someone was going to pose was an apparel executive, they'd probably pose as Phil Knight, or somebody a little less obscure. Surely not David Gormley. And if someone did, I don't think it'd be worth the dupe account suspension. What would be the point?
Drew22
I emailed him. It's worth a shot to pick up a few free hats. Eagles/Heels/Dawgs/Falcons/Hawks

Drew22
So, I received a response back from him.Yup. No problem. I'm heading to the factory in china right now so I can't get yer hat right away. Go to hatmonster.com and pick one out and let me know. I'll ship when I get back. -davidI'm still up in the air on this. I mean I'll pick a hat out and see where it goes. elsephen
Man, I wish I were a scammer... this would be the place to be.Clearly not legit. From the pop email account to the bad language and the way he's carrying himself. My bet is: Once you "pick out a few" hats from hatmonster.com he'll respond explaining how he can get that type of hat but due to international shipping you'll have to roughly pay about... hmm... 40 bucks? If this guy is a scammer, he's sure good at promoting new Zephyr products on twitter. It seems like there are way better scams than giving away "free Zephyr hats".
