Watched Louisville fall to Drexel and Tennessee fall to Oakland last night. Thinking this bodes well for the tournament...even if they've added more teams. Anyone else feel like they should have contracted the field instead?

Oakland could be a scary team, lose by 1 to Michigan State, beat Tennessee. The sky is the limit

They also hung at Illinois in the famous women's ball game.

UConn Women's team just tiked UCLA Men's winning streat record at 88.

How long with the Huskies go?

My prediction: 90, unless they can beat Stanford on 12/30. Then, who knows.

It's offcial.

UConn's win streak is now 89, surpassing UCLA's 88.

You also believe that Sadaharu Oh is the all-time home run king, and that Jennie Finch is the best no-hitter pitcher of all time, correct?

Both streaks are kind of worthless when you consider they're indicative of a piss-poor level of competition. Nobody is 88-straight-games good without everybody else sucking hard. Even the '96 Bulls lost ten times.

So um...random question.

How did San Diego State get to be the #7 team in the country precisely?

Mostly because of Kawhi Leonard.

The win against Gonzaga opened voters eyes, and the fact that they've kept winning has helped too. Weren't they also ranked to start to season?

Yeah San Diego State's a good team

...Watch the NCAA underrate them for the Tournament like Butler or Cornell last year and it'll come to a shock to everybody when they're in the sweet 16 for some reason

Also, I cannot wait for UConn women's hoops to lose. I think Geno's a huge douchebag and of course I hate UConn so the sooner that record streak comes to an end, the better. Also anything to improve parity in women's hoops (or women's sports in general) would be good in my books.

For the first time in 89 games UConn Women have lost.

THANK YOU STANFORD!!!!

Just over two years ago I went to the only women's basketball game I've ever been to. I went to see my favorite school, U of Tennessee, play the Cardinal in Palo Alto. Tennessee was undefeated and coming off of a national title. Stanford fought hard and beat the Vols by only a bucket or two. Tennessee went on to win the title again, facing Stanford in the championship game, but that was their only loss. Ever since then, I'll always respect the Cardinal. Even more so now.

Since were on Womens basketball, the Georgia Tech women beat Tennessee St. 82-11. Tennessee St. shot 3-50. Thats why I dont take the Uconn streak seriously.

Did UConn play Tennessee State two or three times a year every year during the streak started or something? If not, I just see this as a weak attempt to justify downplaying UConn's domination of their sport because you (and many, MANY others) don't really follow (read: respect) women's basketball at any level.

Amen. If you can find a well-coached women's team, I can almost guarantee you that you will watch an entertaining game.

And there is the rub. There aren't nearly as many of those as there are men's. It's a wonderful streak for women's basketball, but this doesn't trump the UCLA streak in men's basketball.

Thank You, and slighty shotgunned: I don't follow womens basketball at all. And I dont plan to. I'd rather watch a bad mens game than a competitive womens game. Not meaning to be sexist, but I just dont get any entertainment out of Womens basketball.
