Minnesota Vikings Uniform Concept...

I'm liking the black and the gold, but i'm going to have to agree that it's a little too baltimorey.

This might sound like a dumb idea but would it be wrong to go more gold?

With the black in the uniform it looks too much like the Ravens. The Vikings dont need to add black there colors are fine as is.

this post have given me a lot of new ideas... i'll tweak it a little, and re-up them.

i've gotta say, i prefer the purple and black for aesthetic purposes, but i'll definately go on the record as saying that the more gold i add, the more vikingslike it looks, so it's a sacrifice i'm willing to make.

I really would like to see a little more black in the uniform. You took a nice idea, and blanded it down. If you're going to wear purple pants, you don't want to wear purple topped socks otherwise it'd like like a unitard (see the Tennessee Titans road combo). Maybe having black topped socks on the road would make a dramatic difference, and I really liked them better with the black shoes a la Bud Grant. That's my $.02 on that ($.06 adjusted for inflation).

I think you could add a little more black to the second concept. Purple and gold will already distinguish it from the Ravens, but you could add a little more black to punch things up a bit while still remaining different from Baltimore. How about going towards a more metallic gold, like Old Gold, instead of yellow?

I don't like the gold facemasks. If they were more metallic (old gold maybe?) then it might resemble the chin strap on a Nordic Viking helmet.

I would use a different font from both of your concepts. The second one is a little bland, the first is too round and serify. I want to see something a little "spiky", similar to the Texans, without a lot of curves...this can go with the bloodthirsty chaotic behavior I associate with the Viking warriors. Friz Quadrata might work in this situation...the serifs are not as pronounced, and it looks like the font used in the wordmark.
