Huge downgrade, IMO. The planet logo could have easily been modernized....yeesh. Funny how often we say that when companies go retarded with rebranding...

So, can you copyright a logo that is essentially the copyright mark?

Terrible.

It's a damned-if-you-do proposal. Their old logo was terrible, but the new one doesn't really fit. You can try to design a logo that has comedic elements, but those generally end up being hackneyed, cliched pieces that are replaced in due time.

It's a fair logo, but not for Comedy Central.

WashingtonProLogo is gonna have a field day with this one.

It works better in the middle of the Comedy Central wordmark, and watching the video clip, it has an interesting branding campaign.

But as a stand-alone icon, it does not reflect the company it represents.

Looks like someone tried to draw the copyright sign but suffered a heart attack and died before they could finish.

Now that's comedy.

Nice simplicity. But, this doesn't really say "Comedy Central" to me. It looks more like a virus protection logo.

Looks more like the logo of an exclusive café or restaurant.

It is what it is I guess. That little video definitely made me feel like I was watching MTV, so Viacom hit the mark I suppose.

Oh, and go cubs.
