LMU
Would be a lot better if it didn't have that ridiculous choppy wave striping.
yauger72
That's awful. Even for a minor-league jersey! Really thought the only bad thing about this is the striping on the bottom. Tradational striping, would've helped. And it looks horribly rushed.
BrianVlietDesign
Love the logo, but they've gotta ditch those wave stripes. They're totally disgusting and off-balance. If they can change the stripes to something a little more traditional or honestly even if they would have kept their Wolfpack sweaters, but changed the colors they would have looked better. hockey week
Idk, I think the wave kinda works. Would it be better if they used the wave from the old Tampa Bay Lightning storm 3rd? It's a twist on traditional, i don't think it's as big of an abomination as everybody says.that said, I think the wolfpack had some of the best jerseys in the game, at least pre-edge. so it's a downgrade regardless I'll respect any opinion that you can defend. oddball
I disagree. Those Hartford Wolf (star) Pack jerseys are horrible! The star between Wolf and Pack and the shoulder yokes are horrible. Upgrade from what they currently wear. Â Â

Sodboy13
The CT Whale jerseys look like they were thrown together at the last minute.Because they were. Oh, and they're a double-blue team at home now? Oooookay then. wildwing64
Wait, what? They're jumping on the double-blue bandwagon too? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of trying to make this team feel more like the Whalers?Wavy pattern aside, it's the colour scheme as a whole - the green, blue, baby blue AND red from the Rangers shoulder patch - that really makes this thing a complete mess. Brass
Wait, what? They're jumping on the double-blue bandwagon too? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of trying to make this team feel more like the Whalers?Howard Baldwin is trying to find the "happy medium" between a team that feels like the Whalers and a team that actually is the Whalers. I'm guessing that if one day, by some miracle, Hartford gets another professional hockey team, the "Connecticut Whale" and the returning "Hartford Whalers" will be completely separate entities. DGivens87
The green jerseys are actually pretty sharp in person, IMO. There seems to be palpable excitement about the "Whale" at the XL Center, even if it does seem fairly contrived. Brass
The green jerseys are actually pretty sharp in person, IMO. There seems to be palpable excitement about the "Whale" at the XL Center, even if it does seem fairly contrived. There is. There are actually advertisements for the team - something seldom seen in the days of the Hartford Wolf Pack marketing team. Billboards, TV ads and newspaper ads are showing that Baldwin is serious about capturing attention for the teamUnfortunately, there's essentially resentment towards the team from the die hard Wolf Pack supporters, which made up a pretty good size number of their lowly attendance before the change. They claim "bloated attendance figures" due to some people receiving free tickets, as promotion, for the club. A number of the them, who for years told Whaler fans to get over the fact that they lost the Wolf Pack and to understand that at least there's hockey in Hartford, are now essentially "boycotting" the team because they changed their name from the Wolf Pack to the Whale. There are some great Wolf Pack fans out there, like BigBoy1083 who seems to appreciate hockey in Hartford, regardless of the name, however they're overshadowed, in my opinion, by the Wolf Pack fans who have given up their 13 year mantra of "at least there's hockey in Hartford, despite the name."It's quite silly, to be honest. It's amazing how quickly attitudes turn when they're not convenient for one party. On 4/10/2017 at 3:05 PM, Rollins Man said: what the hell is ccslc? Bigboy1083
Update: Added the Home and Away Press ShotI think the green jersey looks a lot better than the white one. "The Wave" one the white, IMO, looks out of place.Brass97, the things I don't like about the new ads are 1) They don't promote the team that is on the ice, they only show old Whalers videos, and 2) They don't tell you who the Whale is playing, just the date and time. I have friends asking me when the play the P-Bruins, and other teams. I tell them the schedule, and I have even given some of them pocket schedules. I don't think it helps the "walk-up crowds" when no one knows who they're playing. The other thing I don't understand is Howard Baldwin Sr is not involved witht the day-to-day opperations anymore. Now his son Baldwin Jr is in charge. I understand that it's tough to run a team, but a lot of people, Wolf Pack and Whalers fans, feel he walked out on them. DustDevil61
This is like the San Diego Chargers and the Utah Jazz deciding to go with navy blue instead of their respective fans' favorites, powder blue and green. The Connecticut Whale ownership got cold feet and went with the more trendy look instead of the fan favorite. Gothamite
You're presuming that Baldwin had free reign to use the Whalers name and logo. I find that highly implausible, considering that the NHL makes a ton of money off them. The Green Bay Packers Uniform Database! Now in a handy blog.
