But this is by far the WORST combo they could've worn. It'll look awesome with the home whites though and really should be the primary look. I love that look.This looks a whole lot better than the safety orange of the caps I've seen in person, the wordmark and sleeve patch look great against the black background, and the white piping looks a lot sharper than the orange probably would. But the back of the jersey (not pictured, of course) shoots the whole thing to hell. I prefer this look over the orange jersey/black cap they wore on Sunday. Although, seeing this whole set in action further cements my belief that the cap would be 1000% better if it was just the "M" without the stylized marlin. piratesfan16 Posted April 3, 2012 Share Posted April 3, 2012 My respect for the new Marlins look just skyrocketed. I absolutely love the orange hat, even with the black jersey. I love the idea of mixing and matching for the Marlins, especially in an era where everything needs to look dull and depressing. I can almost guarentee that the Marlins will become pioneers for a new era of colorful uniforms/logos, sort of like the 70's, but a lot less guady. Now that I got that out of the way, I do still think that the Marlins look has some major problems that keep it down in the middle of the pack for MLB uniforms. They should adopt a light blue alternate jersey(preferrably with a light blue cap please), have matching scripts(multicolor design from the 'M' for all letters/numbers), and get rid of the yellow(the bright red-orange color alone works great for the abstract "sunset" design they were going for. This particular combo (orange cap, black jersey, white pants) could definitely be a contender for worst MLB uniform of all time. It looks like someone vomited on my screen. And it's made even worse with them playing the muted traditional colors of the Yankees even in their BP/ST uniforms.The look kinda grew on me, to be honest. The uniforms look awesome the way Steve Cishek wore it with high orange socks, and looks good with an orange undershirt like morrison wore.This jerseys best look if the players don't wear orange shirts or socks is with the black cap.
