Am I the only one who absolutely hates their current logo? The way the fish sits behind the F, and the shape of the mouth have always given off that feel that it should have a hook and fishing line in its mouth.

I've never been a fan of the Marlins scripts and logos. That's why, when I first heard that they were getting new uniforms for 2012, I was excited. However after seeing the new logo... yikes.

Uh... that's the mockup that Patchez just posted on page 46 of this thread.

ahhh...the newb punts his 1st post.

apologies.

I'm as big a Marlins fan as there is, and was completely excited for what was coming.

Right now, I'm :censored:ing speechless.

I'm just :censored:ing speechless.

Yeah, I don't get all the dislike. Sure, it's avant garde, but not in the sloppy manner of a Buffaslug or the random mess of the Thunder.

I'm often dismissed as a traditionalist with reflexive dislike of anything after 1968, but the cap logo has me cautiously optimistic that we're about to have unveiled the best set in Marlins history.

I'm mainly concerned with what color Billy the Marlin's head is gonna be next year.

I got more details out of my uncle, who's in town. They have multiple new caps, and at least one of them isn't black. He said that the logo that's been leaked isn't exactly what's going to be on the caps. He thinks that the uniforms are actually rather classy looking, not uber-modern as people have feared. Both home and away have MIAMI as the script. Oh, and he said that the Marlins have a deal in place to trade for Ozzie Guillen. It's pretty much a done deal after the season ends.

Interesting, and I happen to think its the best looking logo in the majors.

Eh...don't know about "best set" but it could be at least an "acceptable" set. Screw me for lowering my expectations but when you look at the various complete redesigned identities of the last 10 years or so in pro sports its tough to be optimistic.

Miami on home and roads but that leaked logo is exactly what's going on the cap... and yes, there will be more than a black cap with this set

The uniforms aren't insane, one of them will cause you to go blind though.
