You just like to argue, I am not saying its a bad plan long term. I am saying in 2011 the Giants are going to suck.

Except if someone searched for "sports encyclopedia", it comes to you. If you are unsure about "dead money", the EPL, and even issues with the IOC it falls all on you...a person who seems to only sleep for 4-5 hours/day to have thoughts on Pres. Obama and anything else RSS feed

Fu*k The Eagles.

That is all.

I really liked Steve Smith. I don't see how the Giants are going to do anything through the air. Eli isn't the best passer, and we don't have any receivers who can make him look good...

Apparently Smith isn't even going to start the year on PUP - they're expecitng contributions from him in the first quarter of the regular season.

I know seriosuly, never did I comment about the Giants needing to clear dead money, which they are forced to do. In 2012 the Giants may be able to get a few good players, and compete for the NFC East, but the team as put together now looks like they are going to lose a lot of games.

Former Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery has agreed to a one year deal with the Steelers.

Makes me sad....I loved him, he was a true jet but i don't blame him for wanting out. They took a player who had been away from the league for two years instead of him as their number 2 reciever. Just realized yesterday I have too many jerseys of ex-jets

How can he rest knowing that Tank has a website and people might read it?

I wish my 'Boys never got rid of Nick Folk. I loved that guy and he was extremely consistent. And Buehler, while I like the guy and he is an excellent KOS not only because of his cannon of a leg, but also his love for actually playing football (doing things like tackling for instance, which most kickers seemed scared of), the dude sucks at PK. He'll make about 60-70% of them, but he's way to inconsistent. I'd much rather have Bailey for kicks under 45 yards, and anything more, let Buehler do it.

The new kickoff rule is a joke. Did anyone return a kick Thursday?

Bryan Walters took one all the way for the Chargers. Then again, he did only field it two yards deep in the end zone.

I didn't see that game, and I think you get my point :P

I don't know if anyone likes this rule.

Its done for player safety which I get, but what about making it a little tougher to throw the ball. That's what's adding plays onto the game and making the games longer. An average NFL game now has about 20 extra plays in it then a game back in 1985 did. That is almost entirely due to the passing game. You also get about double the injuries on passing plays as you do running plays.

That would make more sense then basically eliminating special teams, but the NFL won't do it because they are a QB centered league and they are not about to do anything that makes these guys less marketable. (aka hurting their stats)

I remember posting here telling people to calm down about this and that it wouldn't really make a tangible difference, but after one night (which is too small of a sample with which to judge) I'm starting to think I was wrong. I was at the Eagles / Ravens game, and kickoffs were essentially just a formality. No chance for returns, as they either went out the back of the end zone or were caught 8 yards deep. Of course part of that is that the Eagles no longer have David Akers dropping kickoffs at the 15 yard line, but still - it looks like the KO return game may not exist this season.

Probably not what anyone had in mind when they said "the league will find a way to neutralize Devin Hester." I thought "the league" was a metonym, guys!

I think many of us here are old enough to remember when the league moved kickoffs back to the 30 because there were too many touchbacks. That was, what, 20 years ago, before the era of the kickoff specialist and everyone, including kickers and punters, getting bigger, stronger, and better conditioned? I eagerly await either the move back to the 30 next year, or the new rule stating a team automatically starts possession at their own 20 after an opposing score.

Smith responded to irate Giants fans on his Facebook page by reiterating that the Giants didn't want him as much as the Eagles did.

"Instead of cursing at me and wishing my family and my knee harm, i wish you could understand that i truly wanted to stay here but that the giants DIDN'T want me here unfortunately," he said. "Thank you to my true fans for standing by me and offering your support during this time ... i truly appreciate it and will miss you all, even the haters bc i know ure great people deep down and are saying what u are just because youre such passionate fans."

Classy.
