Rather, the team that finished the season with the best record was the "NHL Regular Season Champion", which was a predecessor of the President's Trophy, if you will. Both logos were the letter "A." The one in the mid-90's took on a more rigid, scribbled look. It was on his hat. The other and the one I prefer, be it a small photo, is on the brochure seen here.
