Saintsfan
Now now...it's not like Trent Dilfer is the only crap quarterback to get credit for a ring. We don't mock Mark Rypien nearly enough for demonstrating the utter meaninglessness of being a Super Bowl MVP in terms of career evaluation. That's because Rypien had some really good years early in his career. He was close to a MVP in 1991. He was a two time Pro Bowler. He was where Aaron Rodgers is now in his career after winning Super Bowl XXVI. Than he got a big contract and plunged and became a crappy QB the rest of his career.Coincidentally, Joe Gibbs bailed around the same time. Can you say "system QB" folks?/Mark Rypien is the first member of "the list of St. Louis Rams Quarterbacks Who Were Worse Than Tony Banks". And he played for the Rams while Banks was still in college.Ok I will give you Rypien was a system QB, but nobody knew that in 1991, or nonody knew Gibbs would leave after 1992. So they thought Rypien was a good QB when he won Super Bowl XXVI. When Dilfer won in XXXV everyone knew he sucked and was just a lucky sucker along for the ride.Every QB is a system QB. The best coaches can adapt their system to it's QB, the best GMs draft a QB that can lead the coaches gameplan. Brady looked a better QB after Moss went and the Patriots went to a more short pass game. 2011/12 WFL Champions
