FiddySicks
First the Asstros, now the Cubbies are owning the Giants? By the time they play Zona this weekend, they could be at least 6 out. I'm at the game and this is absolutely BRUTAL. This team looks as bad as they did in 08 when Fred Lewis was playing left field even worse than Bonds did. Lincecum just fell apart last inning, but it wouldn't have mattered. They have one freaking hit (that could've just A's easily been ruled a fielding error) and it's the 8th inning. Orlando Cabrera was an absolutely AWFUL deadline acquisition, but what makes it worse is that he's still somehow less pathetic than Carlos Beltran. Beltran is the biggest Nancy I've ever seen. What a piece of trash that fool is.Thank God football season starts soon Craziest part though is there's still a month left. Somehow, miraculously, the Giants could muck their way through this and make the playoffs if they pull their heads out and Arizona falls off. Baseball is mind boggling. Sport
You guys did kinda win that whole World Series thing last year. It's hard to feel for anything for your complaints.
FiddySicks
You guys did kinda win that whole World Series thing last year. It's hard to feel for anything for your complaints.Trust me Mac, I'm not trying to come off as a whiney little bastard who complains because my team doesn't win the championship every single year. And I'm not trying to in any way be condescending by saying that oh you'll get it when you've won or anything, but as cool as championships are, if you're a real fan (which you've shown to be), the party wears off a lot faster than you may think. Win the World Series or finish in last place, you still want to see your team do well and it still doesn't change the passion you feel for their good times and their bad times. It's part of being a fan. It ABSOLUTELY lessens the pain when you eventually do see your team fail, but I still get just as annoyed when I see a bad game and just as ecstatic when they have a great game. If you don't feel my pain, it's cool. In fact I hope you wouldn't. I was somewhat disappointed in 99 when the Reds blew it, and was kinda happy to see Jay Bruce knock them into the playoffs last year. But overall, it didn't matter that much to me, because I'm not a Reds fan. When you guys do win another title I'll be happy for the Reds, but I won't feel nearly the level of elation you will. Just as I'm sure you didn't feel the same way I did watching Brian Wilson blow the final pitch by Nelson Cruz last year. As they say, it's a new season, and if the Giants don't make the post-season this year, it'll put last year into even better perspective and will only strengthen my appreciation for it. But regardless of that, I should still have the right to be bummed out whenever I see my team make Randy freaking Wells look like Cy Young. I mean this team scores less than dorky freshman at the prom. You've gotta at least see where it's a tad perturbing when they're quickly going into a tailspin and letting the D Backs run away with it. Like I said, baseball. Thankfully, it's just a game. I guess after bouncing around to several organizations, he finally decided to listen.
Shumway
Ryan Braun's tumble just made my day. That was hilarious, and he clearly knew it. That's the only way to react.(for those who missed it, he tripped rounding third on an attempted inside-the-park homerun, then just stopped, laughed and eventually got tagged out)

Only two other pitchers in major-league history have had two months in one season with at least five wins, no losses and an ERA under 1.00: Walter Johnson in 1913 (April: 5-0, 0.24; July 6-0, 0.81) and Bob Gibson in 1968 (6-0, 0.50 in both June and July). The Six
Mark Teixeira - "It’s brutal. I can’t stand playing a nine-inning game in four hours. It’s not baseball. I don’t even know how to describe it. If I was a fan, why would I want to come watch people sitting around and talking back and forth, going to the mound, 2-0 sliders in the dirt? Four-hour games can’t be fun for a fan, either."
FiddySicks
Part of me wants to say boo hoo you make 17 million dollars a year to seriously work no more than FOUR hours of the day, and you're playing baseball. But as a fan of a National League team I will say it is much more enjoyable to leave a game wishing it was longer than it is leaving a game glad that it's over. marlinfan
Seriously, who watches Red Sox-Yankees games aside from their fans and 'fans'? There is no drama when the game moves at a glacial pace. So I don't want to hear about all the drama involved in these games. 1997 | 2003
