TheClevelandHockey
That's pretty awesome. But yeah, this team keeps managing to stay in this. They have the 5th-worst record in baseball after starting 30-15 and yet they're still only 1.5 back. The AL Central sucks. And vmd9, please just shut the up and stop making the rest of us look bad. We're not supporting the Indians like we should be. There's no excuses, and you can't turn around and point to the 455 number as the catch-all. You just can't.I think the attendance just hit 1,000,000 people about 13 or so games earlier than last year. But I agree, this team needs encouragement and atmosphere and it's usually just John Adams cheering for them. Hell, I didn't think they'd do what they did yesterday; which is ridiculous because earlier in the season I had no doubt that they would come back. Hafner was the unsung hero of that game, I think. What really gets me is the "great fan" stuff. It's sad to think of our country as a "Steeler Nation", because that would mean that we're a country of near-sighted inbreds from the mountains that can't speak competent English.Let's go Brownies! You mad because the Tribe is stylin' on you? Sport
Also, Cleveland rookie Jason Kipnis hits a walk-off single today, his first career hit. He's an alum of my (now former) high school. Really nice guy, too. Just felt like sharingThat's pretty awesome. But yeah, this team keeps managing to stay in this. It's really long and involved, gets into economics, new stadiums, a legendarily weak AL Central during the 90's, and the phenomenon that was that Indians lineup, but I won't bore you with the tiny details. When Cleveland fans bring up their sellout streak it just makes me laugh because there's so many other larger factors that went into it than "rah we're such good fans rah" that Cleveland people love to spew. Cleveland is no worse or better than any other sports town.

There's this myth that Cleveland is more diehard about their sports teams than other cities and it could not be less true.
scottysprings
So, I asked about five friends in the past week if they wanted to go to the Yankee game tonight and all said no for various reasons. That in itself is a gear-grinder, considering we could've gotten $7 on stubhub, but considerably more a gear-grinder is that my favorite player, C.C. Sabathia, has 10 strikeouts through 5 innings with no hits and no walks.
Seadragon76
C.C. Sabathia has 10 strikeouts through 5 innings with no hits and no walksOh, for the love of all that is holy... Why? Why did the damn Yankees have to put on the mound tonight??

WJMorris3
I'm wondering, have the Yankees had to make any good defensive plays yet tonight? I haven't seen anything but the scoreline.

Dexter Morgan
Looks like the AL Cy Young is going to come down to Weaver, Sabathia, and Verlander. Weaver obviously has the edge right now.

BTW is Fat Joe gonna pitch this series or is he hurt? He's been hurt most of the year and will probably miss the rest of it with nerve damage in elbow. Best thing that could have happened, because1) it opened the door (along with Oswalt's injury / home sickess) for Worley, and 2) I hate him. infrared41
Tigers two game lead. Anyone want to believe them yet?Way back in March, I picked them to win the division...I think. It's possible that I may have gone with the White Sox. In any case, if you're asking if I'm ready to believe in them winning the AL Central, yeah. It's not much of a stretch to think they'll beat out the Indians (who the clock has already struck midnight on.)
