maybe we should learn just exactly if steroids make you a better baseball player first

people act like this is a given and it's nowhere near being conclusive, there are a TON of factors that affect the stats of an era--strike zone, quality of players, ballpark dimensions, the baseball itself, even that giant elbow pad that Bonds was allowed to wear which let him lean into the strike zone with impunity.

To be honest that's another question I don't really worry about. Whether or not steroids improved a player, why else would you take them except to try to improve your performance?

And just look at particularly power stats over the last few years. Way down on the steroid era. Is that just coincidence?

And obviously one trial isn't going to show the extent of drug taking in the game. But add the Clemens trial in and what's already in the public domain and we would have a much clearer idea of the extent.
