CAB
So as far as I know, Dwyane Wade has never had a true personal logo. A quick google search came up with this (which I remember), and this one I'd never seen before. The 'Flash3' logo was kinda what I had in mind here. The number three in the shape of a lightning bolt. When I think of good personal logos, they are simple, not too detailed, can easily be produced in black and white, and the most important--they should have a meaning. The meaning here was obviously Wade's nickname (Flash) and his number. I tried to make something that could be quickly recognized as both a bolt and a 3. I prefer just the two color logos, but I threw in some with three colors just for the hell of it. I also did a quick copy and paste onto a shoe to see what that would look like.C&C puh-leez. JackFr
Too rounded and MS Paint-looking. Nothing flashy about the execution at all. Try it on a larger scale with more pointyness.
Conrad.
also looks like he's number 33, so find a way to distinguish a '3' and a 'W'
habsfan1
If you want to use a W, you should not turn it sideways because it just makes it harder to notice.
raysox
good start. i like what you're going for. even just connecting the ends making a 3 would work.
CAB
Too rounded and MS Paint-looking. Nothing flashy about the execution at all. Try it on a larger scale with more pointyness. Not trying to be rude, but what exactly makes it MS Paint-looking? And if I tried it on a larger scale, that would get away from what I wanted this to be which was something simple that can be produced very small (i.e. on a shoe).also looks like he's number 33, so find a way to distinguish a '3' and a 'W'Well the way I saw it was that the eye would naturally think the ends were closed, and therefore see it as a 3. If you want to use a W, you should not turn it sideways because it just makes it harder to notice. It wasn't intended to be a W...?good start. i like what you're going for. even just connecting the ends making a 3 would work.I'll close the ends and see how that turns out. Thanks for the criticism, I'll try out some different stuff here. Riatt
Unless the middle is shaded in, it looks like a 33. I wouldn't use the black and white ones.
jaha32
also looks like he's number 33, so find a way to distinguish a '3' and a 'W'Well the way I saw it was that the eye would naturally think the ends were closed, and therefore see it as a 3. If people are telling you it looks like 33, then they are right. People see what they see and as a viewer, no one is wrong in seeing something. It is the artists job to make it look like what it is supposed to. I dont like the rounded ends on the outlines. He is the Flash so rounded edgdes makes the logo soft and less flashy. If you make it more pointed and connect the two 3's, I think this could work.

CAB
Alright fellas, thanks for the input. I think you guys were spot on with your suggestions, especially what jaha said about making it more edgy. Improvement?
Steve-O
Gatorade?
CAB
Gatorade?Honestly I don't see that as too much of a problem. Gatorade's is much thicker and more slanted, and mine also has the extension on the top to make it into a three. I think there's enough difference. Lights Out
I think the updated version looks great. I also think that people don't realize that there's a difference between shoe logos and sports logos. Shoe logos need to be simple and easy to reproduce in one color, while also looking nice and representing the athlete. This hits all the criteria. Well done.
