2011: Year of the Quarterback...

Let's just hope it doesn't turn out like 1999.

Jacksonville Jaguars select Blaine Gabbert

Jahgee,

All of us are on the internet and or TV/radio in some format (computer or smartphone). As a result, there is no reason for you to be our "town crier". Just run and tell your parents as they care a little as we do.

Agreed. It seems like a thinly-veiled way to post pad. Anyway, as a Packers fan, I LOVE the Vikings' selection.

I'm so confused about JAX and Blaine. Good or bad? he could sit, but impossible to with that divison. I never thought of him as a Jaguar

It is a OL issue. They have led the NFL in allowing QB hits for the last two seasons. 126 hits in 2009 and 111 for 2010; Gabbert does not take many snaps under center.

FYI. Dallas News NFL writer, Rick Gosselin did have Ponder taken in the top 12, but had trades to not have it as a MIN pick. If Ponder is getting picked, Andy Dalton will too , but Mallett...not so sure.

Wow, shocking. IMO bad call not taking Mallett.

Who knows if it's a bad call or not. That guy has HUGE character red flags. He's not known as a high work ethic dude either. He's got a really high bust potential so I won't criticize anyone for not spending a 1st rounder on that guy.

In my amateur draft analyst eyes, he's basically Dan McGwire with character issues and no history of leadership.

Alright, who had Christian Ponder going in the first round at all??

As a Seminole fan(atic), I'm happy for him. For those of you Viking fans who aren't up on him, the guy is a competitor. He's a super-smart guy, and if need be he can get physical--not quite Jake Locker physical, but he's been known to tuck & run it if need be. Above-average arm, pretty freakin' good with his mid-to-long-range throws as well.

EDIT: Nick Fairley to Lions? Okay...the Motor City Maulers were already scary on that D-line between Suh and Kyle Vanden Bosch...if they can keep Fairley motivated, then they've just become outright FRIGHTENING.

Detroit Lions select Nick Fairley

Again, please stop acting like you are breaking news here.

I would appreciate you a bit more if you actually gave opinions. Instead, it seems as if you have seen all the items on PBS Sprout! tonight and you just have become "Calliou" in being annoying.

Oh me oh my... that Lions D is insane. Detroit is going to be a fun team to watch for the next few years.

Robert Quinn keeps falling... hopefully he can fall to the Pats, they take him, and the Bolts can get Cameron Jordan. Don't screw this up, AJ. Disregard this, Quinn will be a Ram. :censored:. Hopefully the Pats like Kerrigan from Purdue instead.

Suh and Fairley, wow nice interior the Lions will have there, though I'm kinda surprised they didnt go for Prince.

Bear in mind this is also pretty much exactly how the Buccaneers built their defense back in the mid-late '90s...setting up their defensive front to help make everything else work behind them. I like that model...and apparently GFB does too. Calm down, Matt!!! :P

The thing with Ponder to MIN is that McKinney is old and slow and Loadholt seemed to have lost all his talent on their OL. Sidney Rice may be out for even next season, and they defense was poor at tackling.

As for the DET, they needed a DB more than they needed a DL. Green Bay and Chicago are passing teams, they needed coverage over pressure at this point.
