bigbean24
Now that Eric Hosmer has gotten called up, the future is starting in Kansas City. Hearing this I got excited and now I'm really starting to like what I see with the Royals. Love em or hate em, Eric Hosmer is awesome. bigbean24
http://boards.sportslogos.net/index.php?showtopic=78522This doesnt have to do with the season in general. pmoehrin
Well when your starting first basmen is hitting below .200 I think it makes the decision to bring up a top 1B prospect an easy one.Hopefully he works out for them, because at one point the KC Royals were the best run team in the AL West bar none and I know they have a pretty good fanbase as well. Its opinion that if your franchise goes through 5 consecutive losing seasons and you see no real hope for the future you have every right to renounce your fandom and then come back at a later date and not be considered a fair weather fan, so if Royal fans want to wait until they are actually in a playoff race to start rooting for them again, I'm not going to hold it against them.Royals still need alot of work though, and I'm not buying them as serious contendors yet. Bruce Chen is their number 2 starter. That's all I have to say, and he's been their best starter so far. Great bullpen though and I'm not sure why they've held on to Soria. I don't see how a closer would ever be seen as a need for a team that wins 65 games a year. Meanwhile Zack Greinke is being shown the door. God forbid Mr. Glass use some of the Wal-Mart money. I'm sure getting rid of Greinke to get a middle of the road starting shortstop and a few B level prospects will pan out. Again see previous paragraph for my thoughts on the matter. mania
Royals still need alot of work though, and I'm not buying them as serious contendors yet. Wait a year or two. The talent on every level of the Royals system is just :censored:ing insane. They have some more established players to build around, with Soria and Billy Butler, and with Hosmer, Moustakas, Danny Duffy, Mike Montgomery, Aaron Crow, etc., etc., etc. either all arriving or coming really :censored:ing soon, that team is going to be scary in a hurry. Every year in... at least the last decade, and I believe further back than that, every team that was named the number one farm system by Baseball America made the playoffs within 4 years of being named that system, and the Royals are for 2011. There will need to be some gambles with major league talent, but there's just so much talent there.I'm really :censored:ing glad the Rangers are in the AL West. I think over the next few seasons you'll see teams like the Royals, Nationals, and quite possibly the Blue Jays pulling off a similar situation as to what happened with the Rays in 2008 with going from worst (or slose to it) to first. The_Admiral
I'm gonna get to a Royals game this year. Too bad Kauffman Stadium is sort of ugly now. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

The_Admiral
I don't like the new stuff in the outfield. It was much more interesting when it was just a nice pastoral backdrop (well, and a Denny's) beyond the fountains. Everyone loves ballparks nestled in cities; I thought it was cool to have a Major League park that looked like it was in the country. Pleasantly Middle American.I find this calming. ♫ oh yeah, board goes on, long after the thrill of postin' is gone ♫

I read somewhere that they were considering running ads that had the line of "Get your jokes in, now." because they know that help is on the way, and it's a mother ing tidal wave of help. pmoehrin
My feeling with the Royals for the future is that I'll believe it when I see it.I lost all faith in this team to ever be anything above one of the worst teams in baseball a long time ago. I have to be proven wrong in order for me to change my mind. I really don't care what baseball america says about them. I am not settling for anything less then results before I start to buy into this team as being a legit contendor.
