nash61
When I was 11 (2003), LEGO signed a deal with the NBA to market their players. 24 players were recreated as minifigures, wearing their team's jersey. Did anyone else collect them, even just for the jerseys?McGrady, Webber, HoustonKukoc, Bryant, KiddMalone, Iverson, FrancisNash, Pierce, StackhouseNowitzki, Payton, CarterHere's the full list:

Discogod
I had about a dozen of these, most of which I'd customized in retro uniforms...Did you guys ever get those little NBA figures with the big heads in America? They were pretty big over here in the mid-late 90's. They were about 2 1/2" tall, on a round base. Each team had 2-3 players to collect, and they came in those vending-machine type plastic eggs. CS85
Seeing legos with racial diversity seems wrong. The only non-yellow legos are skeletons....this just creeps me out.
Arts11
Are those springs in their legs? What are those for?
prospect13
Are those springs in their legs? What are those for?Thats how they shot the ball. You tilt them backward at the waist and springs would make them snap back and throw the ball.
Western Michigan
I had no idea that Tony Parker was black in 2003.
Milo Meningocele
I had no idea that Tony Parker was black in 2003.You didn't? Pretty sure he still is today, too. I take it you're talking about the single shades for black and white skin colors...but still, that came off kind of dumb.

goaztecs
I got caught up in trying to collect the NBA players, but since I live in Southern California the Kobe and Shaq boxes couldn't be found. I decided to take pics of all the sports themed Lego Minifigs. I forgot to take a pic of the generic Lego basketball players from the streetball set.Group shotClose up of Jalen RoseSkateboarder Bob Burnquist and I can't remember the name of the snowboarderLego SoccerLego Hockey
FiddySicks
I bought a pack of these one time and returned them about five minutes later because they were so much cheaper and more flimsy than than normal Lego men. I always wished they made Lego NFL characters.

Sadly my little brother destroyed it along time ago and is now in pieces somewhere in my basement. Could be worth some money, I have all the little basketball figures somewhere too. I love the Gary Payton Supersonics one... now that's a classic
cameroncrazie07
Yes, I used to collect a bunch of these when me and my friends were little. I had that 2 on 2 set as well, and we would play games against each other. It was really cool.

The only problem was that the mini baseball caps rarely seemed to fit the heads and the bases always seemed to come a bit deformed so that I could never quite stand the figures up without them toppling over. Now that I think about it, I might still have my Paul O'Neill figure stored away somewhere.
