Keeb13r
Yeah, thicken up the lines, use the white ball, and try out a version with the yellow lines.Like a few others said, I can't believe something like this hasn't been done yet! Brilliant.
TalktoChuck
The top left one is the best looking one for what you are trying to do (paying homage to their old logo). The basketball inside the circle makes the logo a little too cluttered and when you fill in the circle with a different color than white you lose the negative space connection to the old logo. This is a great logo, very nice job.
RamblinGamblinTiger
Damn. I've got a similar concept in progress that I was about to post- Yours looks great.

Funkatron101
Not a knock against what you have done, but the more I look at this, the more I hate that bird. It's so cartoony, yet trying to be tough. It's like some spoofy kids cartoon show character.
andrewharrington
This idea was pitched during the development of the bird-head logo. I like the idea, myself. Drakonius26
I love the Atlanta Hawks current secondary logo, and the top right one looks the best out of all of them, with the top left being the second-best. Definitely something they should look into once the NBA does away with that ridiculous fee, and those uninspired recolored logos they trot out every couple of years. GeoTheo
I really like this, a nod to the past while keeping it modern. I don't care for any with basketballs, and I usually don't like basketball logos without balls.
Quillz
Looks great. I really like it, much better than their current primary.
Bmac
Normally I would say stay away from throwing basketballs into an NBA logo because it is so overused, but the circle looks empty without it, almost incomplete. https://www.behance.net/bmatukewic8043
Habs24
I think the bottom left logo would look great without a basketball in it. And I agree with uniguy22, the wordmark in the circle might look cool UConn Huskies 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Champions
tigerslionspistonshabs
Top right is a winner. Hawks should switch back to Red Black Yellow and just forget this stupid switch to Red and Blue ever happened. Watching them play the Bulls, I could barely tell which team was which. Go unique. SP00
DO NOT PUT A BASKETBALL IN IT! your original concept is aceI agree. Without a ball its better. It was a nice plain and simple logo, I think with the ball its gets a bit too crowded. Awesome though
Morgan33
Bottom right. The Yellow ball is too much and bleeds with the yellow beak. All of these including the Navy and Red are spectacular though. Nice work!
wloowarrior22
I can't quite make up my mind on what I like more, I like the one without the ball, but I also know that the NBA likes the teams to have a ball part of their main logo. So here are some more options, 1 is the same, 2 is new, and 3 I made the lines a little bit thicker. I see maybe 1 or 3 being a primary and 2 being a fauxback type thing, but I'm not sure. Let me know what you think.I am also interested in maybe doing a uniform concept, even though I have never done a basketball concept. If anyone knows of some good uniform templates for in SVG that would be a huge help.
YessSir32
I honestly don't want to pick out of these because they are all great. One would be a great Primary, while two and three would be great secondaries. Detroit Falcons (NABL) | Detroit Gears (UFL)
bigbean24
I like them all but 3 is the best. St. Paul Pioneers(GHA) Minnesota Skeeters(CL) Minnesota Lake Monsters(UFL)

Keeb13r
I would eliminate 3 off the bat, the yellow background and yellow beak don't jive well on top of each other. I'm indecisive about which of the first two is the best...
DC in Da House w/o a Doubt
Wow the Hawks really need to go back to black, yellow, and red. I never appreciated that color scheme for them until it was gone. I really like all 3 of the updated logos, but I think I'd pick #1 as the best If I had to pick one.
