New Canadian basketball league announced

What exactly did the PBL officials do to lead all but one team out of the league? I somewhat sympathize with the Rainmen coming from the new ABA (who had twenty teams fold in one year, another year was supposed to have fifty teams but an entire division folded, and now apparently trying to field up to 94 teams this year.) Respect the hell out of the Halifax organization for not folding it in yet.

EDIT: It's also worth knowing that the Rochester team (aka the only team in the PBL) are owned BY the PBL. So yeah, how can minor-league basketball be this messed up(with the exception of the D-League)?

Because most of these teams started in the $10,000 and a dream ABA. You get what you pay for, and with a vetting process of "did the check clear?," utter franchise chaos is the only option.

You can't have a logo that represents Canada without a maple leaf.

You can't have a logo that represents the US without the colours red, white, & blue or stars & stripes

C'mon, if there's anything Canadians really excel at, it's branding. Most companies, including ones that started elsewhere and work in Canada, have incorporated maple leaves, including McDonalds. It's impressive, really.

I'll respect any opinion that you can defend.

Prince Edward Island, Barrie, Kingston, Oshawa and London Ontario are set become the newest teams to join the league.

London's getting a team? Sweet. Might as well check it out.

Halifax - "Halifax Rainmen"

Quebec - "Québec Kebs"

Saint John - "Saint John Mill Rats"

Oshawa - "Oshawa Power"

London - "London Lightning"

Summerside - "The Island"

The Oshawa Power held a name the team contest, received several hundred responses and chose to use none of them and pick their own name... I'd love to hear some of the fan suggestions and why they were turned down
