Looks like with the addition of Boise State, Hawaii, Fresno State, and Nevada the Mountain West conference will be getting a new logo. Here's a link to the article.

Shhhh!

The University of Hawaii's future football home, the Mountain West Conference, will roll out a hush-hush new logo next month as part of efforts to market its changing look.

Even some conference members say they might not see the secret new logo until its scheduled June 6 rollout.

For example, UH officials said copy for a Hawaii advertisement that is scheduled to run in Lindy's MWC regional football preview magazine will be sent to the conference office in Colorado, where the logo will be inserted before it is sent to the Wisconsin publisher.

"That's to prevent leaks," a UH official observed.

An MWC official did not immediately respond to questions about the new logo.

UH associate athletic director John McNamara said the school was "excited about the rebranding possibilities and what it will mean for us as we go forward."

The MWC is undergoing the biggest changes in its 13-year history. On July 1, 2011, Boise State joins the MWC while Utah departs for the Pac-12 and Brigham Young becomes an independent. Then, on July 1, 2012, UH, Fresno State and Nevada leave the Western Athletic Conference to join while Texas Christian leaves for the Big East, which will make the MWC a 10-member conference for the first time in its history.

Most of UH's other sports will move to the Big West in 2012.

Earlier this year the MWC conducted a survey of fans in conference cities and in areas of upcoming members that was expected to help give the conference feedback in planning its rebranding campaign as it tries to be distinctive in the new realigned landscape.

You know, I liked the old logo, but when I just did a Google image search for it I realized they really should clean it up and make it more sharp.

But nothing's going to top the Pac-12.

No, you're wrong! The Big 10 logo is the worst logo and tops the PAC 12 logo as worst conference logo!

Talk about (either) counting your chickens before they hatch or looking too far ahead.

Why is Hawaii releasing this? Aren't they and Fresno and Reno still in the WAC for one more year? Only Boise is joining THIS Fall.
