Oklahoma State vs. Boise State would be a massive disappointment for both teams. I think Boise really wants a shot at a SEC team, either Bama or LSU.

Okie State vs. Oregon would be fun to watch. First to 70 wins.

In reality, I really do hope Boise gets to play either team come bowl season. It'd be a close and exciting game for sure. Knowing the BCS, though, they'll be playing West Virginia in the Fiesta or something.

I really do think that if Boise State plays either LSU or Bama, they'll get embarrassed. I mean, I hope they at LEAST get the opportunity, but I don't see it becoming the next Disney sports classic like their game vs Oklahoma was.

But they only play 1 ranked team per year... maybe 2 at most, and it's always early on in the season. I want to see what Boise State can do when they are put in a major conference (PAC 12), and see how they do playing Standford, Oregon, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State, Washington, and USC during the conference schedule. I want to see them go up against rather large, recognized schools/programs and see if they can do it week-in and week-out.

I wonder if Rizzo's source is the same article I read over the weekend saying that Meyer was headed to Penn State. Can't remember where I saw it but this much I'm sure of, Rizzo isn't getting any "inside info." The guy is a hack.

There were a few reports earlier in the month about him visiting State College and talking the school president and to the VB coach (Meyer's daughters both play D-I).

Meyer talked about the rumors last Thursday before speaking with the Outback Bowl supporters.

Virginia Tech has already played their one ranked team for the year, Wisconsin's getting hammered by the computers in the SOS department, and Stanford's only real opportunity for a marquee win is against Oregon in four weeks. Yet I don't hear nearly the amount of complaining over those three schools as I do for Boise State.

As do I. Unfortunately, academics are holding BSU back from that right now.

There is a big difference between playing Colorado State, and playing UCLA. Are either good? No. But I can surely tell you that one of them would beat the living tar out of the other (hint: it's not Colorado State).

Look, I believe that if Boise continues to beat teams this badly, they should be considered for the title. Its not their fault they're in a horrid conference. But to say that their schedule is comparable to Wisconsin's and Stanford's is laughable.

The majority of their schedule is made up of crap teams like Duke, Arizona, Wazzu, Oregon State, San Jose State, etc. There's a reason why Stanford's SOS is currently at 90 in the Sagarin rankings, 112 in the Colley rankings, and 82 in the Anderson-Hester rankings. That will grow after Washington and Oregon, but not by much. (And by the way, Boise State's SOS is ranked above Stanford's in all three polls.)

I'm not saying the Broncos have a tough schedule at all - unfortunately, TCU decided to suck and the rest of the quality teams in the MWC are long gone. In fact, when the Big East invite comes, I'm hoping and praying that Kustra does the right thing and accepts it. But the same litmus test that is applied to Boise has to be applied to everyone else, or else you're simply using a biased argument.

First of all, Wazzu does not completely suck this year. They actually might make a bowl game.

That test does apply to everyone else, which is why Houston has to pray Boise loses in order to make a BCS game. However, when you do use this test with everyone else, even though their schedules may bee weak now, it will rise way above Boise once they play the big dogs in conference. You fail to think of the possibility that the litmus test IS applied by everyone, but Boise fails it.

We can't really argue the future when we don't know how it'll play out. For all we know, Stanford could lose to Washington and Oregon, and it'll all be a moot point. Right now, though, their SOS isn't that great.

It's not a homer statement.. he's right. It's just how the BCS is and in all honesty, I would love to see Boise State play LSU or Alabama because I'm not really that familiar with Boise State Football, I just know what I see on ESPN. It would be a great game for Boise to prove the haters they're for real.

Is that "age-old meme" that you're a Boise superfan? Because based on the latest page of posting alone, it doesn't seem to be that old.

I think saying X, Y, and Z's schedule isn't that great is a losing endeavor after awhile. After scheduling one good out-of-conference opponent and a few cupcakes to help your ranking, I'm not sure what more a team can do for its SOS once it's in conference play. There's only one SEC so everyone else has to play the schedule they've made. By and large, those schedules are pretty similar in scope for most D-1 schools.

There's no need to tilt at the Boise State windmills year after year. Until they join a BCS conference, you'll be giving the same tired story year after year. We get it; they're a good team that plays in a bad conference and needs several breaks to make it to a national championship. That's also true for every other school not named LSU, Alabama or Ohio State. Thems breaks.
