College Baseball

Every so often a template inspires me to dig up Inkscape and churn out some concepts (see here). This time around the award goes to Bmac's Baseball Template. This is my first dive into baseball and I am focusing on "small" schools I guess. As the subtitle suggests, I am bored at work and therefore updates and additions will be coincide.

Cal Poly: Really love the two golds. I don't know why, but it looks nice IMO. The scripts and everything is great. 10/10

Southern Miss: I think you missed the mark on this one. You have four completely different uniform styles. 5/10

So Miss: Love that black uniform, and the pinstripe home. Not really a fan of much else. The logo on the chest of the gray IMO is to big.*

Cal Poly: Thats a god awful gold color.**

* Fixed.

** Haha.

*** I understand your point, but that is why I chose college over MLB. I feel that college uniforms take a little more liberty as far as 'uniformity' and therefore it would allow me to have a little more fun with the concepts.

Thanks for the feedback. More to come.

I'd swap the logos to the left and numbers to the right on the Cal Poly and Southern Miss jerseys. And since no college team seems to have just one solid uniform template the fact they are all different makes sense.

Is that the convention? I was wondering about that myself. I will make the adjustment on the upcoming concepts.

Maryland: Wow. Having been to a Terps baseball game, I can say this is definitely an improvement. I really like how there's a unique aspect to each jersey. 10/10.

Florida Atlantic: See the second sentence in the Maryland comment. 10/10.

These are very nice concepts!!!

Some thoughts:

Cal Poly: Like the set overall. The wordmark on the home needs to larger and more condensed (similar to the road script). Would say change the color of the road set to gray, but really like the uniqueness of using Vegas Gold on the road set.

USM: Not very fond of.

Maryland: The one-color look of the script and numbers on the home set would look better on an alt as opposed to the primary. I would suggest adding a black outline (or may be even make it a three-color script in red, white, then black) to the script and numbers. The black road jersey looks more like a softball league jersey. Try using a script with the same font, but without the bookends.

FAU: Need to change the look of the tail on the home.

Gonzaga: I would suggest making a white version of the road jersey as the primary home, and make what you have as the primary home now into a sleeveless vest

San Diego: Swap the colors on the script on the home and make the piping navy. Move the numbers on the powder blue jersey to the right.

Morgan State: Make a white version of the navy alt as the primary home.

Temple: Use the script and number style on the road jersey on all the sets. It is wonderful. I would suggest considering making the home uniform cream.
