the admiral 28,206 Posted August 4, 2011 What joy is there to be derived from following a perpetual first-round out that reliably sells off its few talented players amidst a big blob of replacement-level system guys? I mean, I guess you could say that about the Oakland A's, but baseball is baseball; it's not like you can run a drag-'em-down-to-your-level trap scheme in baseball, you either have successful outcomes or you don't. If the Predators can't secure the closest thing they've ever had to a franchise player, then what is there but singing "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it" when your team actually deigns to score a goal every now and then? It's going to look pretty bleak if they flip Weber.

Um, they invented the Wave?
Sodboy13 5,557 Posted August 4, 2011 At least one used to be able to get high in the upper deck. Now they even took away that. No atmosphere.

NEW.ERA 159 Posted August 4, 2011 Owen Nolan going to Canucks camp on a try out basis.Maybe he won't make the team like Brendan Morrison last year, and the Flames will sign Owen..... again.

NEW.ERA 159 Posted August 11, 2011 I've wanted to see a 3 on 3 OT for quite sometime, but what happens with penalties? 3 on 2, 3 on 1? Or do the Refs have a blind eye to everything.

Or do the Refs have a blind eye to everything.I think they would actually add a player to the team on the power play, and make it a 4-on-3, then 4-on-4 from the time the penalty is over to the next whistle. I seem to recall that's what happens in some of the junior leagues that do it.
Still MIGHTY 3,834 Posted August 11, 2011 I think that 3-on-3 after 4-on-4 could work very well. I've wanted to see that. I really think this would help avoid more shootouts.-------Meanwhile in Tampa Bay, the Lightning have installed Tesla coils onto their scoreboard for pre-game stuff and for goal celebrations. And I think that is AWESOME!
NEW.ERA 159 Posted August 11, 2011 That is pretty sick. Flames board shoots Flames, Lightning's board shoots Lightning.
evanmaldonado 0 Posted August 11, 2011 the only rule change that sounds good is the trapezoid removal. Everything else is just a useless tweak.
