pmoehrin
Its better than what the Mets did they drafted someone who never played HS baseball out of High School in the friggen first round.Nimmo though probably has the best upside of anyone in the draft though. His projected ratings have him being a superstar. Almost to Bryce Harper level. Its going to be at least three years I'd say before he'll be up in the bigs though. He's way more raw then Harper was/is. The draft is such a crapshoot though, who knows what will happen. I remember when they were saying Mike Pelfrey was going to be the best pitcher of this generation. We've seen how that's worked out. He's good, but I think what you see now is about as good as he'll ever be. No name Dillon Gee is looking like the ace of the future.Well we shall see. It just does give me reason to pause. It syas he is in Legion bal I wonder if Nimmo will play in the Midnight Sun Game. At least he was not drafted because he was releated to Elvis. Gee does look good I like Niese too. There was someone from my high school that got hammered in every single outing he had in High School ball and got a full ride to Oral Roberts and was drafted by the Padres in either the third or fourth round. There's so much emphasis on these all-star and travel leagues now that for a guy not to have good high school stats or none at all isn't a big deal. Breakwood
Why does a Yankee fan care about the Draft? I hear the mets are shopping Reyes, there you go Yankee fans, you new shortstop.Because you can't build a championship team only with free agents and trades. Has to be a combination of those 3 and international free agency. You don't need the draft to build crap. If you can consistently sign the best free agents, why do you need to draft well. With so many rounds in the baseball draft every once in a while a great player will get drafted, then all the Yankees need to do is throw ridiculous money at the flavour of the week out of the Caribbean. There you go; championship team. The Yankees just have so much money that they can cover there mistakes.
AnythingChicago
Someone I know personally, 21 year old pitcher Sander Beck, has been drafted out of UMD to play for the Orioles. He was drafted as the 4th pick in the 33rd round.
FiddySicks
A buddy of mine was drafted last season in the 10th round by the Rockies, but decided to go back to college because he thought he could get a better offer after his senior year. He wasn't drafted this season at all. WHOOPS!!! On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) Sport
My old high school baseball teammate, Jason King, was drafted in the fourth round by the Detroit Tigers. He was previously at Kansas State. Really proud of him and having known him when he was a scrawny high school freshman I know he got to this point through nothing but hard work and determination.
