Schaumburg "name the team" contest

Recommended Posts

Yeah, when we visited Schaumburg a few years back, I found out how much the people there love that cluster:censored: of a mall.

So, yeah. Name it after that thing.

Don't you speak ill of Woodfield on my watch. I bought some life-changing CDs at the Musicland there!

My ex-girlfriend's best friend worked at Alexian for a few summers. She said that people grabbed cash from the till with stunning regularity because they didn't actually get paid. Let's bury "Flyers."

Which one, the one by Sears, or the one by JC Penney?

I worked at the one by Sears (when it was a Sam Goody). Never again.

I did work at Tower Records in Schaumburg though. Now THAT was an awesome job.

Paul F Tompkins certainly made working at Tower sound like a wonderful thing.

Someone needs to bring back the Schaumburg Flyers!

Or better yet, how about the Schaumburg Aviators?!

Right now, three names stand out.

Schaumburg Mallrats - Woodfield (of course)

Schaumburg Blueteeth - Motorola worldwide headquarters

Schaumburg Knights - Medieval Times has a location in Schaumburg (that famous Cable Guy scene comes to mind)

According to what I've seen/heard/read, Schaumburg is trying to shed its image of being nothing much beyond a mall, so unfortunately Mallrats, Wood Fielders, Mallers, Maulers, etc al are probably out.

So "TGI Fridays" for instant corporate sponsorship?

That time the Nazis showed up in Skokie was pretty awful. Now that's trolling.

I hate Illinois Nazis (since we're mentioning Joliet, and I always thought that team should have been called the Jakes).
