Los Angeles Dodgers: Bankrupt

Just find Big Fat Paulie and have McCourt and his wife rubbed out :P

All things considered probably not a bad idea. I honestly think the world we be a better place without them.

Yeah, killing them is a great idea. That would solve everything.

We got no problem saying that about murderers and rapists, but what do they do? They destroy lives and families. People like the McCourts help to destroy socities in my opinion.

But can NY actually support 3 teams? No one gives a :censored: about the Mets unless they win (except Tank).

Otherwise, I have no problem with that. I would say Indianapolis would be a good place, but there isn't enough money in town for 3 pro teams.

There's only one plausible solution.

Brooklyn.

Bring the boys home. We promise to show up before the first inning... and not cave the opposing fans' skulls in either.

Too soon?

As awesome as that would be, it took forever for ground to brake on the Barclays Center, and I'm not sure it would be so simple to also build a baseball stadium in the area.

O'Malley isn't exactly a saint in all this. He cashed in with FOX years ago in the transaction that start the downward spiral.

He's no "saint" (or make that his father was no "saint") but, it's not HIS fault the Dodgers went downhill.

I saw, I came, I left.

As a Gians fan, im loving every second of this. But I still can't see/don't want to see the Dodgers move. They're an institution and Selig and Major League Baseball hopefully does all they can to keep the Dodgers as intact as they possibly can.

If I had to guess what the odds are that the Dodgers would actually move, I'd put it somewhere between 0% and .1%

If just about anyone other then Frank McCourt was the owner they would be doing just fine, but when a somebody decides to take out a few hundred million dollars out of the business for personal use, it tends to lead to financial problems like this down the road.

People still want to buy the Dodgers but its probably going to be a much reduced price because of how messed up McCourt probably has the team's books.

The debt the Dodgers have incurred under his tenure could take decades rather then years to completely pay off.

As more and more comes out, its probably going to make Bruce McNall look like a responsible businessman by compairison.

He was worried about coming inheritance taxes.

Let the "Dodgers-to-Winnipeg" rumors begin!

Winnipeg got their team already. Move them to Montreal who already has an MLB ready stadium. Avenge Blue Monday I say.

I'm not gonna derail too much, but Winnipeg might be ready for AAA ball. PCL average attendance is around 6300, and the Goldeyes are averaging 5500 in a 7300 seat park in indy A-AA ball; if they can align themselves with the Jays, as the Vancouver Canadians have done, they might be a nice surprise.

This situation is only going to get uglier as it goes forward though and I think it will ultimately end when Frank McCourt and his wife go to prison for tax evasion. Until that happens he is just going to keep filing lawsuit after lawsuit for control of the team, although its going to be very hard to prove that Bud Selig somehow has it in for him as he is saying when its been shown in court documents that he and his wife took out hundreds of millions of dollars from the team for personal use.

Actually, the Chapter 11 filing is the last card McCourt has to play. When he was approved for ownership of the Dodgers he signed a full indemnification that prohibits him from suing anyone connected with MLB in court. This was, literally, his only option other than selling.

Its one of those things where what he can do and what he'll try to do are two different things. He's going to take Bud Selig to court that's happening. Whether or not he'll win remains to be seen. My guess is that he has no chance. He's going to have to have a trial just for the right of actually having a trial. But that won't stop him from trying.
