philly97flyer Posted March 19, 2003 Share Posted March 19, 2003 i know this is a sports logo and uniform board, but i am really amped after reading yet another article about the possible war with iraq. i keep hearing about the possiblity of postponing the NCAA tournament because of war. now i read that the oscars are canceling the red carpet entrance because celebrities dont want to talk about other issues because of the war. i wont watch the oscars anyway, so that didnt bother me to much. then, i read that major league baseball cancelled the opening games in japan between the mariners and a's. if i was a huge baseball fan living in japan, i would be pissed off. with the way security is now, there are plenty of ways to ensure safety at major events such as the oscars, NCAA basketball, and MLB in japan. the main idea behind this "war" is to protect the freedom that makes this country so great. by cancelling/postponing these events, we are giving up our freedom because we are scared of these people and what they might do to us. i dont think i need to remind you that we live in the most powerful country in the world. i am by no means anti-american or any of that other crap. i fully support our country and the brave troops who are fighting for us. but cancelling events like this is what those people want. they do not like our way of life and by cancelling these events, we are ruining our freedom. feel free to respond. im sorry if this is out of place but i really felt the need to get this off my chest. thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
