I see what you're saying, but aren't shoulder marks reversed?

Put the left one on the right and the right one on the left. When looking at it on a player, the "D" would be backwards. When looking at it from the left, it should be straight, and from the right, too. That's why they're reversed.

This is a logo I'm working on for the 2nd alt. I like the general idea, but something about the "DUCKS" looks REALLY off to me. Also, I'm not 100% about using the D logos to fill in the middle space. That's all I could think of to fill the space, because I didn't think stars, or another arbitrary shape would fit well. What if I used something southern-California related (a couple of oranges?) to fill that same space?

I like the logo. Here's my take on what I would do if I were you. There is a lot of empty space like you've said. The webbed foot 'D' seems a bit tacky though. I would try "Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club". The actual middle of the logo just seems a little empty too. A silver outlining might help. I realize you might have taken out the outline but I think that's what might take this over the top. Looking forward to seeing the jersey with this roundel on it. Let me say this: You are exactly what this site needs. You are a great role model for all the newbies here including myself. You have inspired me to continue working on my MLB series. Thank you man.

I tried "hockey club" in the middle of the green and i could only fit it in 12-point font and it was off-center because "hockey" is obviously longer than "club", so I'm not sure it works there. If it would make sense to put "hockey" and "club" above and below the mask & sticks, I could try that...but that still leaves the middle portion of the green open...This will be a fun one to work on.

Where the "D"s are, try putting 19 on one side and 93 on the other (the team was founded in 1993). Like this:

It (the font) looks too thin and is at too acute of an angle. Not experienced with photoshop, so I don't know how to help.

you have to think about this too, once you resize that logo to actually fit a jersey - you won't be able to read half of the writing, you'll just see giant circles and open space.

you don't need the sticks for one. lose those, then you can make the duck face bigger and take up more of the circle's empty spots.

you can decrease the colors from 4 to three if you remove the green or purple and only keep one dark color - you could make a very nice traditional jersey that is plain. for example - green circle goes to white, white font goes to green, silver circle, inner purple circle goes to green, inner font stays white. you can play with it and make it work without having 4-5 colors going on. you have an idea but just take some time and play with it. look at the blues third logo, you could make your silver circle shaded like that, adds more depth to the logo and doesn't look like you just threw it all together in 20 minutes.

anytime bud. once you eliminate the the sticks, don't limit yourself to just using that logo. You could also use the full faced duck logo. granted it's not the 3/4 view that you are working with here but there's no real difference once you consider that you have the option to use both now.

Before posting a new logo, make 3 or 4 - even if you are 100% sold that you have made the perfect logo - still make a few and just play with it to see what you may be able to come up with.

questions to ask yourself - 3 or 4 colors? if three, purple/white/grey? purple/white/green? green/white/grey? etc, just work with different combos.

which main logo to plug in?

for the numbers/letters, just make them white? outline them in grey or darker color? make sure the sizes are defined and easily seen compared to the rest of the logo. make sure the logos are even with the rest of the design... just play with it buddy. sit around and look at it compared to other teams circular logos.... it'll be fine, just take some time to learn some new stuff and see what you can do by yourself

Sorry I'm just getting to this. I agree with getting rid of the hockey sticks for good. They're not necessary in a roundel. Experiment for yourself and find all kinds of ideas. I would get rid of the hockey club in the middle. For the space in the green jade area, I would space out the letters a little more and maybe add circles(old I know but experiment and think of all kinds of ideas). Sometimes you don't need the circle around the middle to be complex and dynamic. The middle circle can actually take the show if you make it interesting enough. You could maybe add the 'D' webbed foot logo behind it as a background(never tried it too lazy ) I look forward to seeing an update sometime. I really like this concept. Keep up the awesome work man.

I'm having a dilemma. The 3/4 duck mask logo looks awkward with this logo, but I don't really like the fully front-facing duck mask logo.

That, and I believe Heitert is using that one for his Ducks concept, and I don't want anyone to think I'm ripping him off.
