One thing that I find absolutely amazing with the NFL is that in Week 14 the Giants season was literally inches from being over. If anyone remembers that game the Cowboys had a 34-29 lead with a little over two minutes to go with the ball. On a third and 5 Romo had Miles Austin literally 5 yards away from any Giants defender and he overthrew him. As we all know now the Giants went on to win that game and win the Super Bowl. But if they lose that one they go to 6-7 and would've been 2 games behind the Cowboys with three to play. Amazing .

I was watching with about 15 other people (small Super Bowl party), and talked about it at school today. I was the only one who noticed the middle finger.

If this becomes a controversy, god help this country.

Its pretty much just the PTC and other like minded right wing censorship groups that are up in arms over it. Most people are smart enough to understand that kids aren't stupid, they can figure out pretty quickly why this may not have been the right thing to do on their own and are going to be exposed to this type of behavior and language at some point anyway. They just haven't gotten that memo yet.

I know they get made in fun of all the time for their noble efforts in trying to make the world safe for children and I am for one am all for that, because they are incredibly misguided if television and media is their starting point, have no chance of ever succeeding and the most ironic part I don't think have any real respect for children's rights or their intelligence even though this is the very group they are supposed to be defending.

At least they make the world a more interesting place though. It wouldn't be any fun if people just shrugged off the MIA thing, maybe made a joke or to about it and then went on about their day as I'm sure most did. You always need the one person in the room that's takes it way too seriously to provide the real entertainment.

I thought of the Giants as a 6-10 team that just happened to be in an easy division that helped boost their record until mid-December when they seemed to get their act together some.

But man this is the luckiest team I have ever seen win the Super Bowl. Not so much because they won, because I thought they did match up well against the Pats and did outplay them, but because they had to have so many things break exactly their way in order to even get there. They basically had to win out in December, the Cowboys had to choke, the Packers couldn't show up, and the 49ers had to give away the NFC title game on two big special team errors. If any of those things don't happen the Giants aren't in the Super Bowl. Beating the Patriots in the the Super Bowl I thought was the easiest thing they had to do on their road.

Just to let you know, that's night a tightrope, but a slack line. That guy is from Santa Barbara and is probably one of the best slack liners inthe world.

Well I learned about it from a friend of mine who is a professional snowboarder. He uses it to build up core strength and improve his balance. We eventually ended setting one up in the backyard of my old house and after messing around on it for a few weeks I got pretty good and it did become a bit addiccting. I've gotten into all sorts of crazy sports and activities due to where I live

Does anyone else agree that if Gronk had somehow caught that Hail Mary pass, that would be the greatest ending to Super Bowl in history? This is coming from a full-on Boston sports hater, but if he had caught that, IMO, it would have been.

WHAT IF Gronk caught the hail mary?... WHAT IF Welker didn't drop that pass?... WHAT IF the Patriots had an impact player on defense?... WHAT IF Myra Kraft's ghost [insert game changing play here]?... I've already heard em all.

It didn't happen, and there was a reason it didn't happen! The Giants were the better team yesterday. How weak would it have been to see the Pats win a Super Bowl, in which they were outplayed for 50 minutes of the game, based on LUCK?

Close would be trapping the ball, or having the ball go between your hands as you grasped for it. He really wasn't close. It bounced, then went through his hands. Now, from the TV angle, I couldn't tell if maybe he had snagged it until I saw it squirt loose, but you're right... he wasn't as close as they make it seem.

One to add to the list of things that went for the Giants:

If Jason Garrett hadn't iced his own kicker at Arizona in week 13 the Cowboys would've won the division instead and the eventual world champions wouldn't have even been in the playoffs.

The Giants probably still would have made the playoffs if the Cowboys won that game. Assuming the rest of the season played out the way it did, the teams would have tied at 9-7, but the Giants had the tie-breaker by beating Dallas twice.
