2011 NFL Season

Aaaaand Curtis Painter is in the game. It's over. He just had a reciever WIDE OPEN for a touchdown and overthrew him on his first pass.

They said that while he didn't get many snaps in practice last week, he had plenty of mental reps. So basically, even though he didn't practice much, he thought about it a lot.

This Colts quarterback situation is becoming comically bad.

As for Vick, he could be out 2-3 weeks unless he can play with a cast. He also hinted at the refs being racist in his postgame conference, saying they continue to hold onto the yellow flags when he's getting smashed in the pocket while guys like Manning and Brady get calls just for being sneezed on...

but... I thought this was the "new", mature Michael Vick?

Learn something about defenses, Mike. Lazy players always have lame excuses why being unprepared is somehow everyone else's fault.

Someone explain to me how the hell there was a hold there. Please? What were they thinking? "Oh, well, that play was so sexy that we better find a way to ruin it. Hey, let's call holding on a guy who NEVER TOUCHED A :censored:ING SOUL THE WHOLE PLAY!"...

...And on the random kick return holding call on Corey Graham, he just walked off the field, not complaining, not saying a word....

He didn't complain because he knew he committed a penalty. Watch the play again ; it's at the very beginning of the play and goes by quick, but it's there. Graham was clearly holding the other player by his shoulder pad. Now, I've seen stuff like this go uncalled all the time, but that doesn't mean it's not still a penalty.

Yes. He could also try to not get hit so often when he's "making things happen." No offense Mike, but a QB that plays your style of game is going to get hit more, a lot more in fact, than a pocket passer like Brady or Manning. The hits Vick is taking are, for lack of a better term, more legitimate. As in he's getting popped while running around etc. It's not like he's taking late hits in the pocket and no one is calling it. Does that makes sense?

I got called out by a certain poster for saying Calvin Johnson was going to make his case as the top receiver in the league this year. I was told only Andre Johnson can be mentioned. Calvin is making a pretty strong case so far, huh? 6 TDs through 3 games and an amazing catch in overtime to set up the game-winning field goal.

Calvin Johnson already is the best receiver in the NFL. There's really no need to make a case.

That holding call on that brilliant, Bears punt return was crap. But that sure was an awesome play. I'm very surprised it worked that well.

Mike Carey's crew was calling that game. That means no plays over 10 yards allowed. Ever. Period. If Mike Carey is the referee, you can count on a :censored:-load of penalties.

Case in point: In their first preseason game against the Packers, the Browns had six penalties. The Packers had seven. In their second preseason game against the Lions, who had six penalties in their first preseason game, the Browns had 14 penalties and the Lions had 12. So what happened? Did both the Lions and Browns suddenly get really sloppy? Maybe, but my bet is it had something to do with Mike Carey's crew calling the game. I don't know if Carey's crew is the best or worst crew in the NFL. All I know is if his crew is calling the game, you can bet on seeing a lot of flags. He ruins football games.

If you think Mike Carey's crew is bad, wait until you watch a game officiated by Jerome Boger's crew.

Seriously, there's actually a crew worse than Carey's? I can't imagine how bad that must be.

That Bears fake punt return thing was definitely very cool...you know until the whole holding thing happened...

Looking back, it was so good it even fooled the camera man. The camera was focused on Hester until Knox got to about the 50 yard line. What an awesome play.

haha yeah, my favorite part of the play was the Packers players looking right at Hester thinking where the hell is the ball.

Here's a post I made about Boger in the 2010 preseason game between the Falcons and Chiefs....

Did Jerome Boger's crew do that opening weekend, Monday Night Football game between the Broncos and Raiders? It was impossible to watch that game with all the flag's that were thrown.

edit: Yes, he did. That guy does suck.

Are you kidding? Andre Johnson is not only better than Calvin, AJ is better than Jerry Rice!

Three things are certain in life: Death, Taxes, and Michael Vick getting hurt. The man has never started all 16 games in a season in his career, and there's a reason for that: he plays the game with reckless abandon, holds onto the ball for 30 minutes a play, and runs around in the open field like he's a wannabe Gale Sayers (who, unsurprisingly, had his career cut short by injury).

If Vick wants to play like a running back, he can't complain when he gets hit like one.

Oh, well that's different. If Skip says so... B)

Skip Bayless is the biggest idiot on ESPN and trust me folks, that's really saying something. God what a tool that guy is.

I dunno, Stephen A. Smith is pretty obnoxious.

I'm sorry, but that hit that Canty put on Vick, the hit where he broke his hand, that was a late hit and ANY other QB gets hit like that, it'll be a roughing the passer. This is coming from a Cowboys fan who hates the Eagles with a passion. I think Vick has a valid point. He's still a QB despite his playing style. Inside the pocket, and he gets hit late, a roughing the passer penalty should be called. It's inexcusable.

Of course the first Colts game I see on TV this season does that. Strangely miraculously gets my hopes up, dashes them by seeing Curtis FREAKING Painter come into the game, raises them up by Curtis FREAKING Painter leading an 80-yard, game-tying, fourth quarter drive, then dashes them again with the Colts loss and Curtis FREAKING Painter throwing the one last final attempt like 5 yards short.

SHORT LIVE THE CURTIS FRRRREAKING PAINTER ERA!

(mission luck - stage 3 of 16: complete)
