WJMorris3
As always, it's way too early to be doing any substantive ranking of college football teams. Although I question ranking any team that doesn't have a chance to win their conference.
NJTank
There should be no polls released until after at least a month has been played. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
NEW.ERA
Polls are just around to get fans and media alike excited about the upcoming season. Also it's for the casual fan to see who's the best in the country, as well those schools have the inside track to being in the National Championship discussion, though in the BCS era hasn't there only been like two teams to go from start to finish as the number one team. Not a good sign for the Sooners. dfwabel
^^^ You know darn well that Miss Ann had to read many better pre-season ratings just to not live up to them. 5 is too high with playing OU so quickly plus VT has a great schedule so VT could win the ACC over FSU. UCF is coming off a 11-3 year, and are favorites to win the C-USA. Plus they have an outstanding QB in Godfrey. Makes sense to me. Why you make fun of me? Still MIGHTY
24 Texas 162 25 Penn State 161 -----------------------26 Arizona State 158 ...32 Arizona 28 Damn. Just 3/4 points out of the Top 25/24. Ah well. Just have to win, and they'll end up there. Can't wait for that first game against #21 Mizzou. Always good to start out the season with an important game with some consequence. Easier to focus on the start against a quality team rather than Portland State and NAU. Billy B
Illinois is definitely not the third best team in the state. Especially when we took it to Northern and Northwestern last year. chicagofan71
As pointless as preseason polls are, I like ND's position at 18. Not too high where they can be written off with an early loss, but certainly enough room to shoot up with a few early wins

88DaleJRFan
I think the pre-season poll is kinda pointless really. It's just all hype like writers with their power rankings a month before a season starts. But nonetheless, I like Oklahoma, they're bringing back some key guys and as poised to shine in that conference this year. I think UCF is an underrated team. They did loose a lot of starters on the defensive side of the ball, but George O'Leary has brought some good recruits and JUCO guys in that can jump in and fill needed voids, I think they'll win the C-USA again this year and possibly win another bowl game, they're and up and coming team.
