Just another element at a designers disposal. Take the giants for example. A matte helmet would work far better than the ultra glossy sparkle lid they pair with their classic look.The Giants' helmets have metallic flake. A simple glossy finish would work just fine. Some teams look good with it, some teams look bad.Now with all this talk of combos, I have nothing to add for Syracuse. It's gonna be orange/navy/orange and orange/white/orange from now until the end of the season, maybe with one game of orange/navy/white. No jersey changes obviously.
