But that's how life in the SEC goes. His hiring may not have been the "home run" that Maryland brass were looking for, but it would have at least lent some credibility to the decision to buy Fridge out for $2 million. Instead UM went with Randy Edsall, whose style of play is pretty much the same sort of ball control, run-centric football that was cited as the reason for why Fridge had to go. Could the Terps have done worse? Yeah, but they could have done a whole lot better, too.And yet, you use the name Fulmer.... who has a better resume then Edsall.If you're going to bring in a new coach, bring in one with a fun, exciting brand of football (Mike Leach).If you can't bring in that sort of coach, bring in one with a National Championship to his name (Phil Fulmer).If you can't bring in either, or don't have a clue how to conduct a coaching search or build a football program at a school where football is the clear number-two, bring in some guy who won a few games at a Big East school. Oh, and while you're at it, completely rebrand the entire athletic department so that the typeface in the logo no longer matches the typeface anywhere else in the school's identity. In all seriousness, you are noting the ludicrousness of basketball jerseys versus a football jersey. Let's be honest, the Maryland jerseys were pretty out there in terms of football jerseys.
