2011 College Football Power Rankings

I suppose you are easily scared by a B1G team laying the smackdown against two of the worst teams in college football for the sake of padding stats and impressing voters who are easily swayed by big numbers and high scores. Seriously, they might as well have played against three FCS teams for what it's worth.

I'm also going off recent team histories here. Wisconsin can be counted on to haul out a good defense when needed, and Oklahoma State can be counted on to :censored: the bed against legitimately good opponents. Win Bedlam for the first time in almost a decade and then we'll talk.

It's still too early in the season to rank teams solely based on who they've beaten. Just like a lot of people don't think polls should even be released until the season is halfway over, it's still too early for a lot of people to judge teams because of who they've played. It's unfair to throw Wisconsin down just because they won't get a real test until this week (I think most people would consider Northern Illinois a top MAC team this year for what it's worth anyways.)

Wisconsin is in charge of Wisconsin's non-conference schedule. Wisconsin doesn't have the problem Boise State and TCU have with getting big-name programs to agree to home-and-homes with them, so there is no excuse scheduling FCS schools outside of conference play.

I guess Texas impressed you THAT much by beating up on Iowa State.

Not Iowa... Iowa State.

Iowa State is better than Iowa this year.

Which isn't saying much.

Well, ISU was 3-0 before this game, having beaten both Iowa and Connecticut. Not an amazing win for Texas, but a good win none the less, especially the way they won the game.

UConn is 2-3. Their two wins? Against Fordham (FCS) and Buffalo (who might as well be FCS).

Iowa State is "meh". Not good, not terrible, but "meh". Texas pretty much ran up the score on them for the sake of running up the score on them.
