hjwii
Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I will ask because I am curious:What do they mean by a "flat visor" cap?I personally like to "roll" and bend the bill of my baseball caps so they have that nice, subtle arch to it. Do these "flat visor" caps not allow for that? Does this mean I am too old and unhip to wear baseball caps anymore? Thanks for the info...
JohnnySeoul
A flat visor is exactly just that...flat. If you bend it, it comes a curved visor cap. Some do one of the other for fashion and/or comfort reasons. Whatever works for you, works for you. BBTV
I think there are caps specifically marketed as "flat-visor" caps and they may be made in a way that makes them more comfortable to wear with the brim flat. I don't wear caps but any time I've tried them on, they were never comfortable nor fit right (center of brim pressing against forehead, little gaps in the corners, etc.) unless I curved the brim. "Flat-visor" caps may be shaped a little differently. I could be totally wrong though. Trevell
I get the feeling that a lot of people think that the brims on New Era's 59FIFTY caps are permanently flat. While they come like that new, you can bend them and curve them to your own liking and they hold their shape fine. I'm pretty sure you can even peel the size stickers off those hats as well. I personally don't see how anyone can keep a flat brim. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it's just not very practical, as the glare from the sun is not blocked coming in from the sides. Even just a slight curve of the brim will take care of that. A Study of The Baltimore Orioles Cartoon Bird Logo

Windstorm
New Era 59Fifty hats are by far the most popular flat-brim hats, even though they're meant to be curved. Like Trevell said, they just come flat so you can bend it to your preference. A lot of other companies now produce hats that are only supposed to be flat, I believe. I'm not so sure how well curving the brim on those would work. Personally I don't like flat brims, but to each their own...
Bouj
Some hat makers do make hats that are hard to curve (The Game has a line that are nearly impossible to curve). Go Astros!Go Texans!Go Rockets!Go Javelinas!
Bravo96
59fiftys come flat in order for the customer to curve them to his liking, like the baseball players do. There's not a standard curve set for uniformity. I prefer a slight-to-3/4 bend in mine, because flat is just uncomfortable. And please, for the love of God, take the stickers off either way... It's fairly comfortable, but not like owning all three of my Braves 59fiftys, which are all bent. The bent bills in my opinion, feel much better on the head. Click the Banner - Join the Movement!
