Thanks for playing Detroit. We have some lovely parting gifts.

It's only 2-1 but I think Milwaukee may be in trouble. With their road playoff woes, and the Cardinals already winning a game in Milwaukee, my feeling is that these Brewers may already have their backs against the wall.

I dunno. Prior to the end of August this Cardinals team could build hotels on the property of dick tripping in the clutch. This ain't over yet.

Nelson Cruz is having one of the best LCS I have ever seen, what he is doing to the Tigers is borderline criminal. He is almost a lock for the ALCS MVP now if the Rangers win.

The winner of this Tigers/Rangers game will win this series, IMO.

Common sense, especially for the Rangers. Assuming that they hold on, they've now got 3 chances to make it right back into the World Series. If the Tigers win, all bets are off, especially considering how things tend to get nutty this time of year.

But yeah, has anybody ever had CS MVP sewn up 4 games into a series w/o it being a sweep? Nelly's got that on lockdown, now.

Well, it wasn't as common sense when the Tigers had runners on the corner with 1 out in the 8th, when I made that post. But yes, now that the Rangers won it is common sense.

Tigers had a great run this year, but they're just too dinged up and can't seem to catch a break in this series...

It should have been common sense at that point. Joe Buck said about 10 times during the course of the game. :P

I haven't watched too much of the Brewers this season, but has their pitching been this shaky all year? They have flashes of brilliance, no doubt. But when they're bad it's hard to watch. I think that whoever wins the NL pennant is in BIG trouble if the Rangers get the job done the way they've been hitting.

This feels like that time the New Jersey Nets won the conference in back-to-back years, except unlike the Eastern Conference of 2001-2003, the Rangers have had to play a majority of their schedule against teams fielding competent athletes.

People should get used to the Rangers being here, or at least making the playoffs almost every year. With the new cable deal they signed and the way they turned the franchise around, I think they have taken the next step to be a "model organization" like the Phillies did in 2007/08. The Rangers are going to be up there with NYY, BOS, and PHI as the only teams which could realistically big on top free agents.
