Memphis was in what I assume are throwbacks today vs. Belmont. There wasn't any mention of them in Lukas' uni-watch post on ESPN, anyone have anymore info?

Yes, 1972-73 throwbacks from their first Final Four year. Even though the school colors are reflex blue and gray, back then the basketball team sported white home jerseys with navy has the primary and red as the trim. Instead of the block letters used today, the "Memphis" script was in cursive (think LA Dodgers). 1972-73 was also Larry Finch's senior year. Larry passed away earlier this year, hence the "21" patch on the right shoulder.

The local crowd loved the unis. The national media has also gotten on-board with how well they looked. More pics from yesterday's Belmont game can be seen here.

Too bad they also didn't use the 72-73 throwback warm-ups too, think vertical striped red, white, and navy pant legs. Awesome.

So ESPNU's on the TV at the dining hall and....

Princeton's got silver numbers? :therock: Yeah, guess they're in the "inexplicitly silver numbers" club. That and my "Princeton should be wearing traditional uniforms" gripe has carried over from lacrosse to basketball. At least there's no friggen sublimated tiger stripes on these

They kind of reflect the football uniforms.

How long has that been their logo? It's looks more like an Angry Bird character than a college logo.

Here are George Mason's uniforms for this season, via GMUHoops:

They're going back to the block lettering, with no arching like they did from 2008-2010. The only difference is that now the yellow jersey is the away jersey, as opposed to the home alternate, and they have a new BFBS jersey as the alternate.

For comparison, here are their uniforms from last season:

Anyone know what the blue gear Adidas teams are wearing in Maui is for? They're all wearing royal blue socks and shoes and warm up shirts

No uni watch mentioned it a couple of days ago, but I don't recall a reason.

Amazing how much better those look than these (on the same template):

Maybe I'm biased (being a BGSU student).

Now, back on topic.

I agree with you though it does look alot better, Go Falcons

I doubt that. White and yellow don't have a lot of contrast, so they it usually looks clunky and awkward when they're placed right next to each other. They need a darker color in between them to make it work.

Good point. That's why some schools went to a single supplier. But in UCLA's case Adidas won't touch the basketball uniforms just everything else

they've meddled with the football numbers a few times and matched all of the golds which has been minimal but the other sports are a nightmare of varying shades of gold/blue married up with some generic adidas template...totally weak imo.

For a few years now. And actually just updated it about a year ago.

Maybe I am mistaken and wrong, or this is old, but doesn't it look like this Nike arm sleeve has WVU's sweatback pattern on it? Do all teams have this?

I was at the game tonight and it definitely seems like the patterns match. I am assuming the sleeves are just for WVU because of the perfect matching colors along with the old gold swoosh, but I never noticed this until tonight.

I sent it to UniWatch, so maybe it will show up tomorrow.

Yea, you're right on the nail with that assumption.

Jared Sullinger sported a similar sleeve last season, as I recall--possibly this season as well.

It did show up, but it isn't news. Nike has been doing that since at least spring 2009 when several teams got them before the tourney.
