FiddySicks
You don't want to celebrate death, but could the Raiders be the next Blackhawks? From what I know of both situations, no. Al Favis was at least willing to put money into the team. Dollar Bill would've charged his players for the thread if they needed to get stitched up if he could. NJTank
Al Davis was a great owner at his best and in the past when he was a mile ahead in thinking of other owners. However, in the last ten years his thinking never changed while the NFL did and his go it alone decision making now hurt because the rest of the league caught up and past his thinking and had staffs that all were able to find the diamonds in the rough Al Davis was famous for developing. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
Chawls
Now that he's gone, I wonder if Nike will persuade the Raiders to change their uniforms. Their current uniform exudes Al Davis and the original Raider way. It's a great uniform, yes, but like Davis, it represents the past much more than it represents the present or even the future. Also, their black and silver color scheme is right up Nike's alley (excluding "volt"). Quote If you hadn't noticed, Chawls loves his wrestling, whether it be real life or sim. Plus, knowing Nike, they will give Oakland a brand new color scheme and give the other 31 teams a black, silver, and volt set.

I completely disagree. Their current set is very plain and doesn't utilize their color scheme very well at all, especially on the road.Anyway, as a devoted Charger fan, RIP Al. Interesting fact: before Al became the head coach of the Raiders, he was the offensive ends coach for none other than the San Diego Chargers. So in a way, Charger Nation has lost one of our own, too.
